Paige Crozon and Team Canada open Paris Games with a win
Team Canada's 3x3 Women's Basketball team with Humboldt's Paige Crozon started off on the right foot at the Paris Games with 22-14 win over Australia in their opening game.
Crozon had four points in the victory. Katherine Plouffe led Canada with 10 points with Michelle Plouffe adding 8 points.
Canada was 8-of-13 from the field and 4-for-11 from two-point range. In 3x3 basketball, a field goal from beyond the arc is worth two points, while a field goal from inside the arc is worth one point.
Humboldt's Paige Crozon begins quest at Olympics in Paris on Tuesday
The entire world is watching the Paris Olympics right now and there is no doubt the city of Humboldt and surrounding area will be tuning this week one local athlete in particular.
Paige Crozon is one member of the Canadian 3x3 Women's Olympic Basketball team which begins competition on Tuesday.
Canada starts the tournament against Australia at 10:00 am local time.
That's followed by a matchup against China on Wednesday at 10:00 am.
Bruno sparkles with another successful show and shine
It was a perfect Sunday to go for a drive to Bruno to check a wide assortment of cars at the 18th annual Show and Shine.
With plenty of sunshine, a little cloud cover and a nice breeze the event was once again a big hit.
Cars began lining up on the Bruno Sports Grounds throughout the morning, giving car enthusiasts plenty to look at throughout the day.
2024 Sask. Summer Games conclude in Lloydminster
The 2024 Saskatchewan Summer Games ended in Lloydminster on Saturday.
Prairie Central finished sixth in the medal standings, winning 24 medals (8G-8S-8B) during the games.

The 18U AA East Central Red Sox finished off their season in the best way possible, winning the 2024 18U AA Tier 2 Provincial Championship in Saskatoon.
On Friday afternoon, the Red Sox outlasted the Regina Pacers 16-15 in a high scoring affair.
In their second game on Saturday, the Red Sox were shutout by the Saskatoon Blue Jays 7-0.

Muenster's Marek Yeager named to Canadian Futures Showcase
Muenster's Marek Yeager was one of 75 baseball players across the country named to the Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Academy's 10th annual Canadian Futures Showcase on Friday.
The showcase allows baseball players that have draft and college eligibility an opportunity to compete in front of MLB scouts and college recruiters.
The players will be split into six teams for the tournament which also features a home run derby.
