Saskatchewan Party holds majority after election, but with smaller margin
After months of campaigning and 28 days after the writ was dropped, the results of the 2024 Saskatchewan provincial election are in.
The Saskatchewan Party will be returning to government with a slightly smaller mandate. When the counting was done Monday night, they were leading in 35 of the 61 seats and captured just slightly more than half of the popular vote. The 35 seats are the fewest captured by the Saskatchewan Party since the 2003 election when they won 28.
Megan Patterson projected to win Moose Jaw Wakamow riding
Saskatchewan Party candidate Megan Patterson is projected to claim the Moose Jaw Wakamow riding in the 2024 Saskatchewan General Election.
Patterson was born and raised in Moose Jaw and worked as a Business Instructor at Moose Jaw's Saskatchewan Polytech Campus.
She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with Commerce Degree in 2000 and worked for a Fortune 500 company for the next 13 years as an Account Executive and Candian Operations Manager.
Hindley re-elected in Swift Current
Everett Hindley will return to the legislature in Regina as Swift Current's MLA.
The most recent Minister of Health has been elected in this constituency for a third time.
Reiter returned in Rosetown-Delisle
Long-time Saskatchewan Party MLA Jim Reiter will return for another term in the legislature after Monday’s provincial election.
"It feels really good," Reiter said. "I appreciate the faith the constituents have placed in me, and I'm going to work my hardest."
Barret Kropf projected to win Dakota-Arm River
Provincial media is projecting the Saskatchewan Party’s Barret Kropf as the winner of the Dakota-Arm River riding.
Kropf and his wife Bridget live in Caronport and enjoy spending time with their three sons, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter.
Blaine McLeod projected to win Lumsden-Morse riding
The Saskatchewan Party’s Blaine McLeod has been projected by the provincial media as the winner of the Lumsden-Morse riding.
McLeod and his wife Marlie have lived in the hamlet of Caron since 1975, and they have three children and 10 grandchildren.
McLeod was first elected MLA for Lumsden-Morse in the 2023 by-election and has been a dairy farmer in Caronport for over 40 years, operating Caroncrest Farms Ltd. with his sons.
Steele secures another term in Cypress Hills riding
Saskatchewan Party MLA Doug Steele will be re-elected in the Cypress Hills riding.
