Saskatchewan goes to the polls today in the province's 30th general election.

Three candidates are vying for the job as Member of the Legislative Assembly for Cypress Hills.

They include incumbent Saskatchewan Party MLA Doug Steele, Clare McNab from the Saskatchewan New Democratic Party and Buffalo Party candidate Doug Wilson.

Reiter seeking another reelection in Rosetown-Delisle

The longtime MLA for Rosetown-Delisle touts his experience in cabinet as he seeks reelection on Monday.

Jim Reiter has been an MLA since 2007 and in cabinet since 2009.

"I've been fortunate," Reiter said. "I've been part of this government since 2007. I've been in cabinet since 2009, so you know I've had the opportunity to say my piece in most decisions that the government has made.

Edel campaigning for change in Rosetown-Delisle

Saskatchewan NDP candidate Brenda Edel is making a push down the stretch of the provincial election to challenge Saskatchewan Party MLA Jim Reiter in Rosetown-Delisle.

This is Edel's second attempt to unseat Reiter, who has been an MLA since 2007.

Reiter won the 2020 election against Edel with 77.7% of the vote. 

"I felt the province and people of Rosetown-Delisle deserve better than they're receiving," Edel said. "I hear messages on the doorstep people that are struggling being able to afford to pay bills, healthcare, affordability and crime."
