Saskatchewan Election 2024

The leader of the fledgling Saskatchewan United Party is attempting a breakthrough this provincial election in the large riding of Lumsden-Morse. 

Jon Hromek finished 2nd to Saskatchewan Party MLA Blaine McLeod in a by-election last year 53.42% to 22.69%.

The riding touches as far west as Waldeck and up to Stewart Valley, before reaching the edge of Regina at the east side of it. 

The provincial election has seen a total of 243 candidates as the deadline to file paperwork for a nomination passed on Saturday.

Across the 61 constituents of the province, the number of candidates running is above the 236 candidates in the 2020 Provincial Election, but less than the record 268 candidates in the 2016 Provincial Election.

How does it feel to finally be on the official campaign trail after what seems to have been a summer of campaigning? 

From tax policy to some personal history, the three candidates for Swift Current MLA shared their viewpoints at a provincial election public forum Thursday night.

Hosted by the Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce, the forum was a conversation and a chance for the candidates to answer questions.

The NDP candidate highlighted his concerns about the state of the provincial economy.

Get to know the candidates for the provincial election in Swift Current tonight.

The Swift Current and District Chamber of Commerce is holding a provincial election forum in the lower level of the Innovation Centre at 6:30pm.

"You can show up any time after six," said Chamber CEO Karlia Wiens. "We will escort down to the lower level. If you have burning questions that you would like answered, please join us tonight to meet your candidates and make an informed decision on Election Day."

Ahead of all elections, at all levels, the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce hosts an all-candidate forum to allow for the business community, and the general public, to ask questions of those who are running for office in the Weyburn area. Last night, the Chamber held the forum for the five candidates who have put their names forward to run in the provincial election, in the riding of Weyburn-Bengough.  

Campaigning for the provincial election is in full swing here in Saskatchewan, with many topics on the minds of voters as they cast their ballots later on this month. One of the biggest issues facing voters is housing availability and affordability.
