Saskatchewan provincial parties spar over Didulo's time in Richmound

Recent incidents surrounding the self-proclaimed "Queen of Canada" have Saskatchewan's political parties trading words.

The Saskatchewan NDP is calling for a major, multi-agency review in response to what they call "widespread failures" to act quickly against the occupation of the former Richmound School by Romana Didulo and her followers.

A half million cigarettes seized near Swift Current

Police seized 500,000 illicit cigarettes at a stop near Swift Current.

Saskatchewan RCMP's Roving Traffic Unit was making what they called a proactive patrol on July 15, 2025 near Swift Current.

Police say they pulled over a vehicle on Highway #1, which was carrying the cigarettes, approximately 5 kgs of illicit cannabis and approximately 292 grams of cocaine.

They arrested 63-year-old Colette Ripper from Calgary, AB.

The RCMP noted that Ripper claimed to be travelling from Alberta to Saskatchewan.

Alberta woman charged in local post office thefts

An Alberta woman has been arrested and charged in connection with break-ins at southern Saskatchewan post offices.

Leader RCMP arrested 44-year-old Tessa Sakowsky from Clandonald, AB, after a traffic stop this Wednesday on Highway 32.

Police say the arrest was part of an ongoing break-and-enter investigation.

Their report noted officers located and seized multiple documents and credit cards belonging to people from southern Saskatchewan.

Younger infants can receive measles vaccines, Ponteix high risk area

Infants aged six months to 11 months can now get a dose of the measles vaccine.

Saskatchewan is making the vaccine available to younger children in areas with measles cases and a high chance of exposure.

That's for children who live in, are traveling to, or have contact with individuals in areas where there is a high risk of measles exposure.
