A significant grant coming to Southwest Homes in Swift Current.

As part of the Government of Saskatchewan’s investment of approximately $1.3 million in capital grant funding to improve safety and accessibility of group homes and day programs, Southwest Homes is receiving $127,000 to support various capital improvements.

The funding is listed as going towards accessibility improvements and bathroom renovations.

"The Ministry of Social Services is proud to work with partners across Saskatchewan to provide services to our shared clients," Social Services Minister Terry Jenson said in a provincial release. "By investing in capital improvements, we ensure that our service delivery partners can continue to deliver quality programming to adults with intellectual disabilities so they can live with dignity, purpose and choice in their communities."

The funds had been part of the 2025-26 budget.
