Furry Friend Friday: Noodle

Hi, I’m Noodle!

I'm a 2-year-old lab mix, looking for my forever people!

I definitely haven’t had the best life, as just before I came to the shelter, I had a chain embedded in my neck, but the kind officers got me all fixed up!

That’s why my neck is all shaved, but that hasn’t stopped me from being the happiest girl! I just love people, especially when they give me all those pets and scratches!

Furry Friend Friday: Haunt

Meet Haunt! She is a beautiful 4 year old Shepherd.

Haunt LOVES to play... Squeaky toys?! Those are her favourite!

She loves walks and hanging out with staff. She knows basic commands, and since she's so eager to please and such a smart girl, we don't doubt that you could teach her just about anything!

Haunt is good with other dogs and kids, however we are unsure about cats right now.

If Haunt looks like your girl, give the shelter a call at 306-773-1806 or head over to our website and fill out an application.

Surprise visitor makes appearance in southwest

Over the weekend, residents in the Lac Pelletier area were in for quite a shock after a black bear was spotted roaming nearby.

The spotting was reported to conservation officers who attended the location; however, they were unable to locate the animal.

Matthew Tokaruk, black bear biologist with the Ministry of Environment, said that although it is unusual to see such wildlife in the area, it's not uncommon for bears to be on the move this time of year.

Swift Current students put artistic abilities on display

Students in the area recently got a taste of what it’s like to display their artwork for all to see with the High School Art Show that was on display last week at West Wing Gallery, located in Kinetic Park.

The doors to the gallery opened at 5:30 p.m. allowing individuals to take in the artwork, and meet the student artists, as well as their instructors.

Kent Archer, curator at the Art Gallery of Swift Current, expressed the importance of the event.
