Bombers hold on for dramatic last-second win

Say this about the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as they hit the halfway mark of their 2025 Canadian Football League season:

They have certainly developed a flair for the dramatic — and, yes, sometimes unnecessarily — so much so that the final moments of their games could bring a stone-cold corpse to life again.

The Blue Bombers improved to 5-4 with another all-over-the-map 30-27 victory over the Ottawa RedBlacks in front of another capacity Princess Auto Stadium crowd of 32,343 that certainly felt much more difficult than it needed to be by the night’s end.

We have an anchor

Hebrews 6:19

The word picture of an anchor is used often in ancient literature, but it’s used only once in the New Testament in picturing hope as an anchor for our soul. Lots of hymns and gospel songs make use of this anchor metaphor. Every one of them comes back to Hebrews 6:19: “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul...”

Forecasters say conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail, heavy rain, and dangerous lightning.

‘God never gives up’: K-Anthony’s journey inspires latest single

Jamaican-Canadian K-Anthony hopes that his latest single, "Falling" reminds listeners to keep going despite the challenges faced.

"The song came from when Peter saw Jesus walking on the water," K-Anthony said. "Sometimes we have great hopes and expectations for what God has created us to do, but in the midst of it, situations happen and you might slip and fall, but the idea is don't stay falling, but get back up."
