Suspected Road Rage incident sends child to hospital

Airdrie resident Caitlin Johnson was heading back to Airdrie in the afternoon on Saturday, August 27 on Highway 2 near Carstairs, when she noticed what appeared to be smoke.

"In the distance, on the left-hand shoulder [lane] side of the road, it looked like there was a big cloud of smoke. I thought it was a fire at first. Then, as I got closer, the traffic slowed down," she said. "I saw a car, it looked like it had rolled a few times, but it was sitting upright."

Vehicle and man in Calgary child luring incident found

After appealing to the public for help in finding a vehicle and driver that was suspected of being involved in a suspected child luring incident on Monday, the Calgary Police have located the driver.

"We were able to locate the driver and speak with him. While the driver is not under arrest and is not facing any charges at this time, police continue to investigate the circumstances that led to the interaction with the child," a press release stated. 

Alberta ranks at the top of the list for distracted driving

While 83 per cent of Canadian drivers admitted to doing at least one activity other than driving, while driving, Albertans seem to be the worst of the bunch when it comes to multitasking when behind the wheel, according to a recent survey conducted by RATESDOTCA

Ninety per cent of Alberta respondents in the survey admitted to doing at least one other thing than driving, with 58 per cent saying that their distraction takes the form of a ‘digital distraction activity.’
