How Manafest's delayed flight led to The Gate Keepa's big break

Kris Auest, AKA The Gate Keepa is reigniting his passion for music.

To someone who has never heard his music, Auest shared that "When they hear the lyrics and the message, it really speaks to the person's heart and causes them to think about life and why they're living it."

It all started almost 20 years ago when he would write poems and songs, that his friends told him to turn into Christian rap. The ultimate goal, as he shares is, "To minister to the brokenhearted."

A Regina-based Christian singer and songwriter was recently recognized for his powerful music. 

Earlier this month, K-Anthony found out that he was nominated for a Juno award for Contemporary Christian/Gospel Album of the Year.  

"I was blown away, to be honest. I was actually coming from class when I got the message," said K-Anthony. "I don't take it for granted. I'm very much grateful that I was nominated."

Waiting on miracle, Manitoba worship artist in Florida battling Lyme Disease

A Manitoba worship artist who spent years in prison ministry is now in Florida waiting on a miracle in her battle against Lyme Disease. 

Catherine Plett lives in the Winkler area with her husband and three boys. Sharing the gospel is her passion and it's been brought down to sharing His word on social media after Lyme Disease has taken so much away from her. Plett has been a songwriter for many years, releasing music that she says God puts on her heart.

Rod Neufeld is the director of youth ministries, Night Church, and community outreach at Abundant Life Baptist Church. 

"We have a Good Friday service and Sunday service," Neufeld says. "We also have youth on Friday night." 

Jeremy Camp back on tour two weeks after having heart surgery

Jeremy Camp is back on the road after undergoing heart surgery earlier this month.

Two weeks ago, Jeremy Camp took to social media to let fans know that he would be going through a procedure called cardiac ablation to treat his atrial fibrillation (AFib), which causes irregular and often very rapid heart rhythm that can lead to other complications.  

He continued to update his fans, letting them know the surgery went well and that he was resting at home. 

MCC's $1.6 million project helping food crisis in Gaza

The entire population of Gaza, roughly two million people, is on the brink of famine and MCC is facing delays in delivering food aid by truck.

The main issue MCC is facing is getting through the borders into Gaza to bring food relief. 

"It's an unprecedented humanitarian crisis," says Darryl Loewen, the Executive Director of MCC Manitoba. "The residents of Gaza have their movements restricted by the state of Israel and the IDF. War has displaced nearly three-quarters of Gaza's population and at least half are living with an acute emergency food crisis."
