Peace County residents packed over 3000 boxes for Operation Christmas Child

Despite the challenges posed by inflation, shortages, and the conflict in Ukraine, Canadians lovingly packed 415,072 shoeboxes with toys, hygiene items, school supplies, and many other items during the 2022 Samaritan’s Purse shoebox campaign, Operation Christmas Child. That’s an increase of more than 1,000 shoebox gifts over 2021’s total.

Distribution of shoeboxes around the world has already begun. During the next few weeks, children in Ukraine, the Philippines, Central America, and western Africa will be receiving shoeboxes packed by caring Canadians.

Church outreach program demonstrates Christ's call to serve neighbours

St. Thomas Anglican Church's Kreative Kids community project has expanded to reach everyone in their community, encouraging connection through arts and good food.

Initially, Kreative Kids was the first program St. Thomas Anglican Church offered, first started 10 years ago, it is a drop-in art program for the community of Weston and Brooklands. Each day there is something new for the kids to take part in, such as arts and crafts, board games, video games, movie nights and more.

NASA astronaut weighs in on new science exhibit at Bible museum

The exhibit titled Scripture and Science: Our Universe, Ourselves, Our Place opened on January 19, 2023, in Washington, D.C. at the Museum of the Bible. Retired NASA astronaut, Jeff Williams visited the exhibit and shared his thoughts on Christianity and science. 

Canadian artist Quincy Telus releases new soulful single

Canadian Christian artist Quincy Telus has released a new soulful single called “Hold On”.   

The song was originally released in 2019, but Quincy felt its meaning had evolved and that there there was more to the song. He wrote the song while in grade 12, but as the years passed, he always felt like there was more to it.  

“During that time there was the entire pandemic, moving home, moving back to Edmonton, moving back home, moving back to Edmonton, and then moving to Winnipeg. The meaning of the song stuck with me and evolved with my situations.”
