Tens of thousands mourn Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI during funeral mass at the Vatican

Pope Francis joined tens of thousands of faithful in St. Peter’s Square on Thursday at a funeral Mass for Benedict XVI, a rare gathering for a dead pope presided by a living one.

The Vatican, enveloped in a thick fog, featured heads of state and bishops from around the world who came to Rome to mourn Benedict’s death and remember his papacy.

Apple watch mistakes passionate preaching with falling down

Best-selling author and speaker John Piper was delivering a passionate message on a Sunday morning when his watch started beeping to alert someone he had fallen down. 

On December 11 the theologian was sharing a message titled 'The Lord Governs My Good and Is My Good: All of Psalm 16 for a New Year.' He was preaching at South Cities Church in Lakeville, Minnesota.

Right after Piper shouted, 'God is good,' with his hands in the air, his Apple watch started beeping.

Nigerian worship leader and award-winning songwriter Sinach is looking forward to what God is doing in the new year with her music and message. 

Sinach wrote 'Way Maker' in 2015 and it has since been covered by over 60 Christian artists, including Michael W. Smith, Darlene Zschech, Leeland, and Mandisa. The song has been translated into 50 languages and it won Song of the Year at the 51st GMA Dove Awards, making her the first Nigerian to win the award. 

Becky Isaacs recovering after deadly car crash, 'I covet your prayers'

A member from The Isaacs band was recently in a serious collision in Tennessee that left one person dead.

"Thank you for the prayers and the love and support, it means so much to me," says Becky Isaacs Bowman. "They [the doctors] did a complete knee reconstruction on the right side. On the left side, they're not going to do surgery but I'm not able to walk or put any pressure on it for 6-8 weeks. I covet your prayers."

'Continue to pray': Bombers chaplain says as NFL player in critical condition

A medical emergency halted an NFL Monday Night football game yesterday as a player from the Buffalo Bills is currently in critical condition, garnering prayers from all across North America. 

"We were watching the World Juniors last night and TSN cut to that right after the game," says Lorne Korol, the chaplain of the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. "They were showing images of Damar Hamlin making the hit, popping up after the hit, and then collapsing. It was surreal to see them come out and administer CPR."

Nigeria sees rise in attacks on Christians near Christmas; 41 killed, 58 kidnapped

There has been an alarming rise in Christians killed and kidnapped in the regions of Nigeria where extremists run rampant, including an attack on Christmas Day. 

According to Christian Post, one Christian was killed and 53 were kidnapped on Christmas Day in southern Kaduna state, Nigeria.

He says the U.S. State Department has placed less emphasis on these issues in recent years. “I was very disappointed with how the CPC report was issued this year. It’s Friday afternoon. It’s a written statement. There’s no press conference; there’s no effort to draw attention to the report or to draw attention to the countries which are persecuting religious minorities.”
