With the sudden passing of Lead Pastor Leon Fontaine of Springs Church, many people are sharing their heartfelt thoughts on the impact he had on their lives. 

On Saturday, November 19, Fontaine took his last breath on earth. His congregation in Winnipeg and Calgary were shocked by the news. 

Fontaine and his wife stepped into leadership roles at Springs and have been there since 1994.

Netflix is turning an accidental exchange between two strangers that went viral on social media into its newest feel-good feature film.

In 2016, an Arizona grandma accidentally texted a stranger inviting him to dinner for Thanksgiving, it has since become a heart-warming story between two unlikely friends. Now, Netflix will recount this story between Wanda Dench and Jamal Hinton in a movie titled, "The Thanksgiving Text." 

Jordan St. Cyr sweeps 2022 GMA Covenant Awards with most wins

Multiple Manitobans took home GMA Covenant Awards during this weekend's live broadcast of the 42nd Canadian Christian awards show. 

Jordan St. Cyr, who moved from Niverville, Manitoba to Nashville, Tennessee this year, cleaned up with the most awards won at the GMA Covenant Awards. St. Cyr won six awards, including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year. 

"Receiving 6 Covenant Awards tonight was truly incredible!" says St. Cyr on social media. "Thank you Lord for the team You’ve surrounded me with and the songs You’ve put in my heart."

Leon Fontaine dies at 59

Just days before his 60th birthday, well-known Winnipeg pastor Leon Fontaine has died, according to his church.

Springs Church announced to its congregants on Sunday morning that Fontaine died on Saturday. He would have turned 60 years old on November 25,  according to an online biography.

Heart4Iran is a network of over 100 ministries working together to reach Christians in Iran through media and broadcasting. They are asking for prayer as many people have recently been killed in the many protests. 

Historic moment as OCC receives 200 millionth shoebox

As a little orphan girl, Elizabeth Groff received an Operation Christmas Child Shoebox and today she is helping pack the 200 millionth box. 

Samaritan's Purse began the project, Operation Christmas Child (OCC), back in 1993, bringing gift boxes to children in developing countries around the world. 

Groff grew up in Ukraine, where she received her first OCC shoebox.
