Huddled in a hallway as bombs reduced their Ukrainian city to rubble, members of the Mariupol Church of Christ urged Alexander Chekalenko — Sasha — to call on the Lord for protection.
When he stopped, they could hear the gunfire, the explosions.
So Sasha kept praying. Or he read Psalm 23: “Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me.” Soon, the children had it memorized.

New Life Radio (NLR) is a Christian ministry based in the warzone city of Odessa (south of Ukraine). Their programme is based around Bible teaching in Russian language, serving audiences both in Russia and Ukraine. The NLR team includes members of both nations.
In 2019, they had to leave Moscow, moving to Ukraine because of the restrictions implemented by the Russian government.
Early rise for those attending Pope's mass near Quebec City during Canadian visit
Those with tickets to attend the Pope's mass northeast of Quebec City at the end of this month will have a very early start to their day, but a spokesman who questioned whether the schedule would be too hard on Indigenous elders now says it's the best plan.
Organizers for the papal visit to Quebec said only shuttle buses from two designated locations at Videotron Centre or Mont-Ste-Anne will ferry people to the shrine of Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, northeast of Quebec City, for the July 28 mass.

Chris Llewellyn and his wife Gabriella announced the birth of their twins on July 6.
