From Ottawa to Atlanta, new Christian artist taking melodic tones with her

Used to singing backup, a Canadian Christian pop/R&B artist is now stepping into the limelight.

Charity Grant is a singer/songwriter who is new to the Christian music scene when it comes to releasing original songs. However, she's been singing on stage for most of her life. Grant's first single released in August is 'Pressure.'

"This is my first release. I spent the majority of my teenage years and young adult life leading worship at my dad's church in Ottawa. I've been leading worship for a long time and singing backup for various artists."

Fine line between smuggling and shipping Bibles

Successfully sending Bibles into countries that persecute Christians can be a tricky task.

A ministry that specializes in sending Bibles recently sent out 200 Bibles to a church in Nigeria. It's not illegal to send Bibles to Nigeria, but border patrol can make it difficult.

"We got a call from this lady in Toronto who was a volunteer for an organization called Operation Bible Drop. I believe they're out of the states," says Ryan Rempel with Give the Word. "They raised funds to be able to send Bibles to churches in Africa."

Lucille Williams is a national speaker who has ministered to couples and families for more than 25 years. She is also the author of the book, The Impossible Kid: Parenting a Strong-Willed Child with Love and Grace.

Williams has been married to her husband for over three decades, but things weren't always great.

Hip-hop artist leaning on God after life of addiction

His life was spiralling out of control until he had an encounter with God last year, and now a Canadian hip-hop artist is sharing music that resonates with his transformed heart.

Once singing on the main stage, Canadian hip-hop artist Kalem Moses lost it all before finding his eternal worth.

Moses first started sharing his own hip-hop music in 2018, releasing a full-length album titled Gift of Desperation. Just one month later Moses was opening up for Canadian hip-hop artist Classified. But things were not perfect in Moses' life.

Franklin Graham asks for prayer, recovering from heart surgery

Franklin Graham is recovering in a Minnesota hospital after heart surgery earlier this week.

Graham made a post on his Facebook page Tuesday morning updating his followers on his status. He says he underwent surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester on Monday.

Graham had developed constrictive pericarditis, "which is inflammation and hardening of the sac around the heart that compresses the heart and prevents it from working properly," he explains.

"The surgery involved removing the pericardium, and we thank God that it went well," he says.

Steinbach Adult and Teen Challenge receives a two-storey gift

What started out as a place where individuals struggling with addictions and life-controlling behaviours would find hope and healing back in 2013, has now returned to what Steinbach's Southland Church had originally intended the facility for.

Earlier this month, the two-storey complex off Westview Drive in Steinbach was gifted to Adult and Teen Challenge, by the church.

Daniel Emond of Adult and Teen Challenge explains that the need for this kind of facility is two-fold.
