Sudanese Christians reject the coup and call to pray for peace

Sudan is once again experiencing tense and unstable times after the army deposed Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok and the rest of the government, and Christians in the country are calling for prayer.

The military has also dissolved the main government bodies in the country and is violently suppressing the popular protests that were organized immediately after the announcement of the coup d'état.

Nearly ten civilians have already died as a result of violence by the armed forces, and hundreds have been injured.

Thuringia celebrates 500 years of Martin Luther Bible translation

The German state of Thuringia is commemorating the translation of the Bible by the church reformer Martin Luther 500 years ago with a year of festivities.

The focus is on Eisenach, where Luther translated the New Testament into German in just eleven weeks during his stay at Wartburg Castle between 1521 and 1522.

The reformer stayed there after his abduction on behalf of the Saxon Elector, after he had been declared outlawed by the Diet of Worms because of his 95 theses and his views. His translation was first published in Wittenberg in 1522.

From crime, violence and drugs to successful athlete and Hollywood actor

Early Christmas presence: New holiday songs unwrapped

Here is a look at new Christmas tunes hitting the radio waves in one month. 

At the end of October, Love & the Outcome released a new holiday single called 'Christmas Lights.' 

"It’ll be a different kind of Christmas for many of us this year. With not being in our house and the loss we’ve all experienced, we needed a song to remind us that there is still something to celebrate!" says the couple that makes up Love & the Outcome on their Facebook page. 

Faith comes first for Canadian Christian musical duo, The Lay Awakes

Anyone who spends a few moments speaking with Patrick Anderson and Anna Paddock will realize a few things that they're really good at.

Anderson is a wheelchair basketball player and half of the band The Layawakes. His wife, Paddock, comprises the other half of the husband/wife duo.

It's putting faith and family first, however, that ties it all together for the couple. Something that has been put to the test for both Anderson and Paddock throughout their lives.

Indonesian Muslim and Christian face blasphemy charges

Last month, Indonesian police arrested two clergymen, one Muslim and one Christian, on blasphemy charges.

Bruce Allen with FMI says Indonesia tries to treat all nationally recognized religions equally. “The national government is trying to keep balance and harmony between people who speak 720 plus languages and who live on 6,000 different islands.”

Hollyn expecting great things next year

Christian artist Hollyn has much to celebrate and she's taking to social media to share it with fans. 

It's been two years since the singer released an album. On November 5, Hollyn will be releasing her first independent album called Holy Rebellion

She pre-released a single on October 21 called 'Opinions.'

On a personal note, a 60-second video posted to Hollyn's Instagram page shows her and her husband's journey to get pregnant.
