Statistics show huge economic spinoff for World Men’s Curling Championship

Statistics from Curling Canada, released by the Moose Jaw and District Chamber of Commerce, show the scale and economic impact the BKT Tires World Men’s Curling Championship will have on Moose Jaw. 

The championship takes place from March 29 to April 6 at the Temple Gardens Centre, where an estimated cumulative attendance of 55,000 to 60,000 curling fans is expected throughout the week. 

Field set for World Men’s Curling Championship

The field is now set for all 13 teams for the BKT Tires World Men’s Curling Championship, taking place at Temple Gardens Centre here in Moose Jaw from March 29 to April 6. 

Headlining the field will be world No. 1 Bruce Mouat from Scotland. He’s joined by third Grant Hardie, second Bobby Lammie, and lead Hammy McMillan. Along with being the No. 1 team, Mouat is also the 2023 world championship gold medalist. 

Mayor anticipating large economic impact from Men’s World Curling Championship

We are less than a month away from the world watching as Moose Jaw hosts the BKT Tires World Men’s Curling Championship.

The festivities will run from March 29 to April 6 at the Moose Jaw Events Centre, with 13 teams from around the globe being represented.

Mayor James Murdock feels that this world-class event will be a huge boon for the city.

“Financially, I think it’s just going to be great for the community. I’m not privy to what reports say the financial amount will be, but we know it’s in the millions,” he said.
