Saskatchewan becomes member of Republican state governors' group lobbying for energy deregulation
Premier Scott Moe of Saskatchewan has signed the province on to be a member of the Governor’s Coalition on Energy Security (GCES), a group of Republican US State Governor’s founded during the Biden presidency to lobby against energy regulations, becoming the second Canadian province to do so after Danielle Smith signed Alberta up last November.
Grant Jackson leaves Manitoba legislature, eyes House of Commons seat
A member of the Manitoba legislature has resigned his seat to run in the federal election.
Progressive Conservative Grant Jackson is leaving his Spruce Woods seat in western Manitoba to run for the federal Conservatives in Brandon-Souris.
The federal seat has been held since 2013 by Conservative Larry Maguire, who announced Sunday he is not seeking re-election due to health concerns.
Jackson has represented Spruce Woods since 2023, and previously worked as an assistant to Maguire.
Liberals hold six-point lead over Conservatives: Leger poll
The federal Liberals are pushing further ahead of the Conservatives in voter support, and almost one in two Canadians surveyed said they think the Liberals will win the election, a new poll suggests.
The survey, conducted by Leger for The Canadian Press, reports that 44 per cent of decided voters surveyed would vote Liberal in the upcoming election, ahead of the Conservatives at 38 per cent.
The poll surveyed 1,599 Canadians between March 21 and March 23, which includes the first day of the election, and the two days leading into it.
Liberal candidate for Provencher gearing up for "very important" federal election
A federal election is coming up in just over one month, and the liberal candidate for Provencher is getting ready.
"It's going to be busy because this is a short campaign and so there's a lot to do, but I'm I'm looking forward to it. I think this is a very important election, so I wanted to be part of it," says Trevor Kirczenow.

The federal election called yesterday means we'll be voting in the newly-formed federal riding Airdrie-Cochrane.
Boundary changes approved in 2023 are now in effect. While Cochrane and Airdrie will remain in the same riding, Ghost Lake, Waiparous, Stoney Nakoda Nation, Banff and Canmore are among the communities included in the redrawn Yellohead constituency.
