Keeping it fresh at the Morden Farmers Market  

The Morden Farmers’ Market is in full swing for its 2025 season. Open Thursdays from 4:00pm – 8:00pm from mid-June to early October, the market is already seeing a bumper crop of a season.  

Organized by vendors, for vendors, the market is held on 8 Street in Morden, between Stephen Street and North Railway Street. One of the organizers, Lorna Epp, shared what makes the market special is the sheer variety of vendors and product: “There’s fresh strawberries, there’s fresh vegetables, there is baking of every kind”.  

Regional Connections is changing lives one career at a time  

Regional Connections Immigrant Settlement Services in Winkler, Morden, Altona, and Dauphin reported some success with the employment services offered to newcomers and Canadians. This is the one program the agency offers to all people, not just immigrants.

All Canada Classic showcases top sheep breeding stock

The All Canada Classic Sheep Show returned to Brandon this past weekend, bringing together sheep producers from across the country to showcase breeding stock and connect with fellow industry members.

With about 250 sheep for sale and attendees from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, the event marked a milestone for the national sheep industry.

A local success story

Brandon last hosted the national show in 1981, and the event remained here for three years before moving westward across the country.

Tim Hortons Camp Day unites Pembina Valley for the sake of youth

“We had a neighbour boy who got to go. He was very excited .... It was just an amazing experience, and I'm sure it is for every camper that gets to go.” 

This is what Hilda Froese of Winkler said of Tim Hortons Foundation Camps, an organization with the objective of “helping youth from underserved communities achieve their full potential” in a camp setting. 

U17 AAA Central Energy looking to bring natural athleticism to provincials

One of the best compliments a ball player can get is being called a "complete athlete" and head coach of the U17 AAA Central Energy, Cam Zacharias, believes his group is filled with exactly that, and looks to bring it to provincials starting today.

"I still get the butterflies," Zacharias jokes as he passes through the gates in Stonewall, the host site of provincials. "I think I'm more nervous than the players. I just want them to do so well. They seem calm, but I'm over the top excited."
