Very windy Friday, Rainwatchers May 12th
After a rainy Thursday evening in many parts of Southern Manitoba, we’re heading into a very windy Friday, with southerly gusts up to 80 km/h in the Red River Valley and Southeastern parts of the province as that Colorado low moves northward through the province.
"Even with the southerly wind, we will see below-average temperatures today, in the 13 to 15 range, and that’s where we’ll be through at least Monday," explained CMOS Accredited Weathercaster Chris Sumner. "The normal daytime high for this time of year is 20, and the overnight low is around 6."
Province supports 18 community projects with Building Sustainable Communities Fund
A number of community-based organizations in the Pembina Valley and Red River Valley will see a share of $25 million being distributed through the Province's Building Sustainable Communities Fund.
Police witness vehicles racing on Winkler's Main Street, officer assaulted during arrest
What started out as a report regarding a suspicious male, ended up in a short pursuit and charges of assault on a member of the Winkler Police Service.
Just after 2 am on April 29th, Winkler Police were given a description of both the male and the vehicle he was in.

Red River crests at Emerson, Overland Flood Watch issued with wet week in forecast
On Overland Flood Watch has been issued for all of Southern and Central Manitoba as forecasters continue to monitor a series of precipitation systems starting today that could bring as much as 60 millimetres (mm) of rain to the region over the next five days. Rain amounts of more than 60 mm are possible in some localized areas.
