Grand opening for Morden's Furniture Store June 4th

Morden's Furniture Store, also known as MDC, is a small, family-owned furniture store where you'll be treated the same way the owners would want to be treated when considering furniture, mattress, or appliance needs.

 

MDC moved to a new location, 131 7th Street, across from the Kenmore Theatre, and has been operating in the space since November 2021. Owner, Annie Giesbrecht says, now that they are settled in, it's time for a grand opening which is happening Saturday, June 4th.

 

Dead Horse Cider to launch orchard tasting experience

Dead Horse Cider Company, based near Winkler, will launch an innovative outdoor experience on May 21st at their newly planted orchard. Visitors will be invited to stop by the taproom, grab a drink and enjoy the cidery’s scenic property on a picnic or walk. The public can also book a tour to learn about the facility and production process. This is the first orchard cider tasting experience in the province.

Through technological advances and the implementation of best practices, every kilogram of pork raised today requires 40% less water, 33% less feed, 59% less land, and produces 35% fewer carbon emissions than over the last 50 years. These are trends Manitoba’s hog farmers are continually working to improve.
