Hodson takes the helm as Chair of Manitoba Crop Alliance
The Manitoba Crop Alliance has a new leader at the helm as Jonathan Hodson recently stepped into the role of board chair. Farming near Lenore in western Manitoba, Hodson brings years of experience to the position and a deep understanding of the organization, having been involved since its formation five years ago.
Hodson has served in various roles over the years, including most recently as vice-chair. Before the formation of the MCA, he was a director with the Manitoba Corn Growers Association, one of the organizations that merged to form the alliance.

Moose Javians Lt-Col. (ret’d) Lyle Johnson and Creighton “Wayne” Cameron are on the list for the 2024 Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal, as announced by Lieutenant Governor Bernadette McIntyre last week.
Province moves to support municipalities with derelict building framework
The Saskatchewan Association of Rural Municipalities (SARM) brought the issues posed by derelict and abandoned properties to light in late February, calling on the Government of Saskatchewan for funding and the creation of the legal framework needed to expedite cleanup efforts.
As of yesterday, amendments have been made to The Construction Codes Act to support pilot framework to assist municipalities in tackling the ongoing issue of derelict structures.
Traffic restrictions required as April sidewalk replacement gets underway
A series of sidewalk and concrete replacement projects being conducted by the City of Moose Jaw will require traffic restrictions in several locations this month.
Road closure signage and barricades will be present on 4th Avenue NW between Caribou Street and Ominica Street as contractors will begin work repairing concrete and sidewalks. North and southbound traffic will be impacted; however, intersections will remain open for those traveling east and west.
Mammography bus resumes journey after local stops
The mobile mammography bus is run by the Cancer Foundation of Saskatchewan and Saskatchewan Cancer Agency and is on the road in 2025.
The bus first departed on Jan. 6 and recently concluded its stints in Bengough (Feb. 18 to 21), Assiniboia (Feb. 24 to March 7), and Gravelbourg (Mar 17 to 28).
Federal NDP leader worried for kids after Saskatchewan MLA called him a terrorist
Federal NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh says he's worried about the message being sent to children after a Saskatchewan legislature member and former teacher called him a terrorist.
Speaking to reporters in Richmond, B.C., Singh said he didn't care personally about the comment but questioned why Saskatchewan Party MLA Racquel Hilbert would even say such a thing.
RUSH REACH: Brock Haley shines in rookie season
Rush forward Brock Haley is having himself quite the rookie season. Through 15 games played, he has recorded 16 goals and 24 assists.
The Saskatchewan Rush have 11 wins and 5 losses and are currently in second place in the NLL standings. Haley says part of the reason the team is so successful is because everyone has bought in.

It's Throwback Thursday - just a minute to remember the good ol' Days.
I'm thinking about hockey today as families from across Saskatchewan come to Moose Jaw for the EPIC Hockey Spring Ice Melt Tournament. 65 teams will compete for four days. It's all about opportunity and development for young athletes who want to get better at the game they play.
When I was growing up and playing hockey back in the 70s, we didn't have spring hockey. Oh, there were some summer hockey schools in late August but nothing like this.
