Moose Jaw Crime Stoppers are looking for information after a boat and its trailer were stolen from a South Hill driveway at the end of July.
One ASD fail at Friday check stop
Eighty-two vehicles were stopped by Combined Traffic Services Saskatchewan (CTSS) and Patrol officers at a check stop located on the 1100 Main Street North on Friday.
Officers completed 53 ASD tests, with one driver failing and being charged criminally, and one driver receiving a roadside suspension for an ASD warning.
Sports Round-Up: Monday, August 12
They erupted for 19 hits and 14 runs and the Saskatoon Berries took game one of the Western Canadian Baseball League east division final 14-1 over the visiting Moose Jaw Miller Express.
Carter Beck had a day for the Berries, going 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 RBI.
Game two is tonight at Ross Wells Park.
The West Division Final also resumes tonight with Okotoks and Sylvan Lake - The Gulls taking game one by a score of 5-3 yesterday.
Sunday night collision on Highway #1 near Mortlach
Moose Jaw RCMP were on the scene of what was described as a “serious collision” late on Sunday night on Highway #1 near Mortlach.
While westbound lanes were blocked, RCMP sent a press release just after 3:30 a.m. on Monday to say that they have since reopened.
We will have more information on the collision as it becomes available.
Non-life-threatening injuries in rollover near Secretan
The RCMP provided an update on a collision that happened yesterday near Secretan.
Swift Current RCMP attended the incident, which involved a truck towing a travel trailer that had rolled. The situation led to Highway 1 being restricted to one lane while the scene was cleared.
Of the three people in the vehicle, one had non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital.
Roadwork planned for Thatcher Dr and Main Street starting Monday
Motorists might see some changes to their routes starting on Monday, August 12, due to the City of Moose Jaw’s Paved Roadways & Sidewalks project.
Areas impacted are as follows:
Thatcher Drive W between 9th Ave NW and 11th Ave NW - those heading east will see lower speeds and must squeeze right, while cars travelling west will be diverted via West Park.
Fraud cases impacting Crown corporations reported
Two losses for Crown Corporations arising from reportedly fraudulent activity were seen earlier this week in the quarterly loss report.
In one of the cases, a SaskTel employee was terminated following “two fraudulent attempts on the same day to acquire SaskTel devices," with the instances happening between December 2023 and April 2024.

The Moose Jaw Miller Express are heading to the next round of the Western Canadian Baseball League playoffs! The Millers completed a first-round upset of the Regina Red Sox with an exciting 7-6 win in front of 757 fans at Ross Wells Park.
Nate Mensik and Austin Gurney hit home runs for the winners. Westin Walls earned the win on the mound, pitching 5 solid innings.
The Millers' opponent in the next round is yet to be determined, with the Medicine Hat Mavericks shutting out the Saskatoon Berries 3-0 last night, giving both those teams a win in the best-of-three series.

Moose Jaw residents arrested following robbery in Alberta
A pair of Moose Jaw residents were recently arrested and charged following a break-and-enter in Alberta.
On Tuesday evening, the owner of a residence in Lehigh, Alberta, is reported to have been sprayed with bear spray during a break-and-enter, and the suspect fled the scene.
