On September 14, 2024, heaven gained another angel. Chantel Marie McCallum passed away in Kelowna at the age of 38. She was employed at Remax Real Estate as office manager at the time of her passing. Chantel married Joey Reader, her high school sweetheart. She was predeceased by Joey in 2014, leaving Chantel to raise their son Cruz. From her second marriage, her daughter Aria was born.

Police seeking two suspects in two July incidents
The Moose Jaw Police Service said that an individual previously reported to be a suspect in a July 18, 2024, incident has been cleared of all wrongdoing following an investigation.
Police say they are still looking for two people who reportedly accosted an elderly man in a grocery store parking lot and stole his wallet. They add that those same individuals are also suspects in a second incident on July 18, 2024.

The provincial election season is heating up, as such our local candidates addressed the community directly during Tuesday night's All-Candidates forum. Many questions were raised, among them was the issue of mental health and addictions that has remained a constant concern for many of Moose Jaw’s residents.
During the forum the four prospective MLAs were asked by members of the community on how they would best tackle the city’s growing concerns, especially within the downtown core.

Moose Jaw’s MLA candidates gathered at a nearly full Golden Nugget Centre last night to answer questions from Moose Javians, discuss the most pressing issues, and outline solutions during the Moose Jaw & District Chamber of Commerce’s All-Candidates Forum.
The candidates covered many topics during the two-hour session, ranging from healthcare, mental health and addictions, the economy and housing to strategies in support of Moose Jaw’s tourism sector and how they would best represent the needs of the community.

The Warriors will be back in action on home ice this Friday against the Medicine Hat Tigers.
The Saskatoon Blades improved to 7-1 and 1 with a 4-3 win over Regina and Prince Albert dropped a 7-5 decision in Kelowna.
