Highway 2 overpass repairs are underway following Wednesday's collision
Following an incident on Wednesday that saw the Highway 2 overpass struck by a track hoe on a semi-truck, the Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways says repairs are needed.
While the repair cost is still not known, work on the northbound overpass is getting underway and will require a minimum of four weeks. The Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways said the southbound overpass is still being evaluated to see if repairs are needed.

SaskPower is reporting that the power is out in areas including Moose Jaw, Baildon, Briercrest, Clayback, Avonlea, rural areas south of Moose Jaw to Old Wives Lake, and all surrounding rural areas.
A cause for the outage and time of repair are not currently available, though SaskPower says crews have been dispatched.
35-year-old man charged with firearms trafficking offences
After an investigation undertaken by the Moose Jaw Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Section, a 35-year-old man has been arrested and charged with several firearms-related offences.
Police initially arrested a suspect in possession of a handgun with the serial number removed on April 15, 2023, and say they were able to determine the firearm’s serial number and owner.

The 27-year-old is wanted on charges including seven failures to appear, flight from police, dangerous driving, and breach of probation.
He’s described as 6’0” and 157 lbs with short dark brown hair and brown eyes.

Hillcrest Golf Club requests Municipal Project status for course renovations
The Hillcrest Golf Club is proceeding with plans for a multi-year, $3.5 million upgrade to their course. The Hillcrest needs approval from the City of Moose Jaw because the course includes City-owned land, and management hope to get municipal project status at the same time.
Municipal Project status for the Hillcrest’s upgrade plans would mean the golf club could issue charitable tax receipts to qualified donors who contribute to the upgrades.
