Gert Wiebe nee McDougall, 98, of Altona formerly of Winnipeg, passed away Wednesday, April 23rd at Altona Memorial Health Centre. She is survived by her children Debbie (Bill) Hildebrand, and Terry Wiebe, as well as 6 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Abram H. Wiebe, her son Ronald, and 1 grandson-in-law.

Lillejord, Frieda

Frieda Lillejord, late of Weyburn, SK passed away on April 23, 2025 at the age of 95 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, Melvin; parents, Erich and Marie Luebke; in-laws, Olaf and Mabel Lillejord; sister, Julia Viergutz; brothers, Carl and Ronald Luebke; son-in-law, Mark Gregory.

Wilbert Genoves

Wilbert Genoves was killed in a car crash on January 23, 2025, while holidaying in El Salvador.

Wilbert came to Swift Current in 1983 as a refugee, with a diploma in agriculture. He worked hard to learn English and received his Canadian citizenship in 1986. He studied to become a nurse and was employed at Palliser Regional Care Centre for many years.

Wilbert’s sister, Gilma, came to Swift Current in 1999 and also studied nursing. Their mother reunited with the family a few years later, and was welcomed by their circle of friends.

Henry Thiessen

Henry Thiessen, 88, of Winnipeg formerly of Stuartburn, passed away Tuesday, April 22nd at Heritage Lodge. He is survived by his wife Susan, 1 daughter, 2 sons, 1 sister, 6 brothers and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Ana Thiessen, 2 sons, 3 sisters and 6 brothers. 
The funeral service for Henry Thiessen will be held Sunday, 11am at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, with burial at Reinfeld Cemetery. 
Viewing will be at the chapel one hour prior to the service. 

Robert Gary Hadden

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Robert Gary Hadden on April 8, 2025 at the age of 63.

Robert is lovingly remembered by his three children: Jesse Hadden, MacKenzie Strong, and Gregory Hadden; and his cherished grandchildren: Violet Hadden, Camille Strong, and Geneva Strong. He is also survived by his siblings: Luke Hadden, Kim Hadden, Scot Hadden, Josh (Jennifer) Hadden, Cindy (Jim) Telke, Christine (Dave) Lamb and Tara (Terri) Redmond; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Fillion, Caroline Antoinette

Caroline Antoinette Fillion, late of Weyburn, SK passed away on April 18, 2025 at the age of 87 years.

She was predeceased by her husband, David; son, Jerry; parents, John and Natalie (Smith)
Herberholz; brothers, Jack and Richard Herberholz; sisters: Betty-Ann and Marion Herberholz, Marlene Schneider, Madelene Richards and Susan Potyra.

Hall, Yvonne Marie

Yvonne Marie Hall, aged 99, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2024 in Weyburn, SK. Born on October 18, 1925, in Marolles-en-Brie, France, to Marie Francoise Cotbreil and Paul Alfred Vigoureux, Yvonne immigrated to Canada with her parents and younger sister Paulette in 1930. They stayed with her mother’s sister Philomene Porte and uncle Jean-Claude after arriving in Canada, and later moved to a farm northwest of Gladmar, SK that her father homesteaded. She became a naturalized citizen of Canada on January 27, 1938.

Mrs. Marion Regier

The Funeral Service for Mrs. Marion Regier of Swift Current will take place on Saturday, April 26 at 1:00 p.m. from the Church Of The Open Bible in Swift Current with Pastor Jay Hinds officiating.

The Private Interment Service will take place at the Hilcrest Cemetery.

Helga Guenter, 86, of Winnipeg formerly of Snowflake, passed away Friday, April 18th at Grace Hospital. She is survived by her husband Bill, 1 daughter, 1 son, 2 sisters, and 4 brothers. She was predeceased by 2 brothers. 
The funeral service for Helga Guenter will be held Friday, April 25th at 11am at Sargent Avenue Mennonite Church, 926 Garfield Street, with burial at Springstein Cemetery.
