Victoria, B.C. – The Moose Jaw Warriors will look to get back on track when they head into Victoria to face the Royals on Friday night.
Moose Jaw has lost three straight games to open up their BC Division road trip, but have been getting better with each outing.
McFadden learning from early-season opportunities
Victoria, BC – The injury bug hit the Moose Jaw Warriors hard early in the season with some key, veteran forwards missing time.
While that led to struggles for the team, it could also pay dividends as the season progress with some younger players getting more opportunities higher in the lineup.
“It helps you get your confidence now and dip your feet into the league a bit more, you’re getting more opportunities and more looks and that’s going to give you scoring chances,” Warriors rookie forward Landen McFadden said.
Warriors fall short to Cougars on Tuesday
Prince George, B.C. – The Moose Jaw Warriors had opportunities to swing the game in their favour but came up short, falling 4-1 to the Cougars in Prince George on Tuesday night.
“Our effort, our compete was there, for the most part, we really liked our game,” Warriors assistant coach Curtis Pereverzoff said. “Our structure, the efforts, we were staying around the puck, we were getting shots through, we had a lot of quality looks and it just unfortunate we didn’t get the job done.”

Prince George, BC – The Moose Jaw Warriors are focused on staying positive after dropping the first two games of their BC Division road trip.
“We’ve had a couple of stages throughout the games where we’ve played really well as a team and we can definitely build off that,” Warriors assistant captain Kalem Parker said.
The Warriors will look to get back on track when they head into Prince George to battle the Cougars at CN Centre on Tuesday night.
Lakovic, Schmidt crack NHL Central Scouting’s Preliminary Rankings
Moose Jaw, Sask. – The Moose Jaw Warriors had two players crack the NHL Central Scouting’s 2024-25 Players to Watch list for the 2025 NHL Draft.
Lynden Lakovic received an ‘A’ rating, while Connor Schmidt came in with a ‘W’ rating on the list, which a compilation of draft-eligible prospects from all the major development leagues throughout North America and Europe.
Lakovic was one of six players from the Western Hockey League to receive an ‘A’ rating as a potential first-round candidate.
Warriors battle, but fall to Blazers on Saturday
Kamloops, B.C. – Brayden Yager and Lynden Lakovic had a goal and three points each, but it wasn’t enough for the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday night in Kamloops.
The Warriors fell 6-4 to the Blazers to drop the second game of their five-game road trip through the BC Division.
“I thought the first period and third period were really good, I thought we stuck to what we need to do, we played well, we were structured and did lots of really good things,” Warriors associate coach Scott King said.
Lakovic ready for pressure-packed draft season ahead
Moose Jaw, Sask. – Lynden Lakovic’s stock is on the rise heading into the 2025 NHL Draft.
This week, the Moose Jaw Warriors forward was given an ‘A’ rating by NHL Central Scouting in their Preliminary Players to Watch list, and he was also named to Team CHL for the 2024 CHL USA Prospects Challenge presented by Kubota next month.
Lakovic said the outside accolades hasn’t phased him as he looks to continue climbing up the draft rankings.
PREVIEW | Warriors open BC trip in Kelowna on Friday
Kelowna, B.C. – The Moose Jaw Warriors have loaded up the bus and hit the road for five games in 11 days through the BC Division, which will start on Friday night against the Kelowna Rockets at Prospera Place.
The Warriors have struggled heading into the road trip, going winless in their last five games, but forward Owen Berge said the team is focused on getting back on track during the trip.
Warriors fall to Tigers on Friday
Moose Jaw, Sask. – After battling to keep it close through 40 minutes, the Moose Jaw Warriors couldn’t hold off the Medicine Hat Tigers any longer in the third period on Friday night.
The Warriors dropped their third straight, falling 6-3 to the Tigers to kick-off the weekend at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
“We just looked slow, we looked slow in all areas of the ice and they’re the fastest team in the league and we just had a tough time keeping up,” Warriors associate coach Scott King said.
Military Appreciation Night jerseys up for auction Friday night
Moose Jaw, Sask. – The Moose Jaw Warriors are set to honour local military members on Friday night at Hangar with a special, limited-edition jersey being worn when they take on the Medicine Hat Tigers.
This year’s Military Appreciation jersey features the 1967 Royal Canadian Air Force Rondel as the crest on the front.
The 1967 RCAF Rondel was created in 1967 to celebrate the Canadian Centennial and during that year, the Golden Centennaires were formed.
