This year's National Drowning Prevention Week theme is "Learn to Swim"

Despite the downward trend in the number of drownings, it's still the leading cause of unintentional death in Canada.

Reeve Heppner highlights some projects in North Norfolk

Municipalities in southern Manitoba continue to work hard to improve their communities and that includes the Municipality of North Norfolk.

Reeve Ed Heppner says preparation is key.

"Once we get our planning together, we do have a number of plans," says Heppner. "One, of course, is some street paving and repairs in the MacGregor area and the MacGregor streets. In the municipality, we're continuing with the fiber optic Internet installation with RFNow."

He notes they have been putting money away into reserves to ensure the projects can be done.
