Trudeau in Brussels to talk security as U.S. tariff threats continue

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is in Brussels today as Canada works to deepen its trade and defence ties with Europe.

The prime minister landed in the Belgian capital around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning. His one-day visit includes a meeting with NATO secretary-general Mark Rutte and the European Union's two most senior leaders.

Ursula von der Leyen has been president of the European Commission since 2019, and her job involves directing the EU's policy agenda and legislation.

25% tariffs and their impact on the $43.5 billion dollar Canadian canola industry

U.S. president Donald Trump announced he has postponed the 25% implementation of widespread tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico until March 4th. These tariffs would have economic impacts on a variety of industries, including canola. The canola industry in massive in terms of supporting Canadian agriculture, with the economic activity accounting for over $43.5 billion a year. Chris Davison, President and CEO of the Canola Council of Canada, reiterates just how impactful this industry truly is and how important trade relations between Canada & the United States are.

As Abraham and Isaac headed up the mountain, before Abraham knew how God would intervene, he assured his son that God would provide the sacrifice. 2025 Juno nominations for Christian category includes Manitoba's Jordan St. Cyr

On Tuesday, Feb. 11, the 54th Annual Juno Awards released their list of nominees for this year's Canadian music awards show. 

This year the Christian category was almost cancelled, alongside Reggae, and Children's Album of the Year, but after widespread advocacy from Canadian music supporters, they decided to keep these categories for the 2025 Junos. 

Grande Prairie resident Esther Ling wins local songwriting competition

On January 18, Grande Prairie’s Esther Ling was announced the winner of the 1st Annual Grande Prairie Boys Choir Songwriting Competition with the winning song, “Cheeky Wind”.  

Esther is a pianist, composer and singer songwriter, and it was such a joy for her to be able to share her original song.
