Funding extended for Manitoba Farmers to tackle climate change

The Prairie Watershed On-Farm Climate Action Project (PWCP) is expanding, and it's good news for farmers in Manitoba. The project, which has been helping farmers reduce their environmental footprint since 2022, is getting a significant boost from the Canadian government.

Lynda Nicol, Executive Director of the Manitoba Association of Watersheds (MAW), explains how phase one of the program has been a huge success.

County crews have confirmed that the gas release in the area of Highway 674 (Teepee Creek Highway) and Range Road 54 has been contained and is no longer is releasing.

County Regional Fire and Enforcement Services are in the process of leaving the scene.

Technical Search & Rescue will unveil new vehicle this Saturday

Technical Search & Rescue will be unveiling their new vehicle in a ceremony at Prairie Mall Center Court on Saturday March 1st at 11:30am.

Technical Search & Rescue (TSR) has been fundraising for several years to replace vehicles in their fleet to better suit their needs to provide ground search and backcountry rescue to the Grande Prairie Region. TSR has secured a vehicle, completed its outfitting and now wants to share this milestone with the community who has supported them.

Joly seeks more intelligence sharing with Europeans as Washington drifts from Ukraine

Foreign Affairs Minister Mélanie Joly says Ottawa wants to deepen intelligence sharing with European partners, as longtime ally Washington diverges from Canada on issues like Ukraine.

"We're now living in a much more dangerous and complicated world," Joly told reporters Monday. "It's in full display."

Joly was speaking at a virtual news conference from London after talking to U.K. National Security Adviser Jonathan Powell.
