It's National Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories connects people living with dementia and their care partners with free support, knowledge, and a sense of community so they don’t have to face the journey alone.

With more than half a million Canadians living with dementia today, a number expected to reach 1.7 million by 2050, the Alzheimer Society is continuing to offer support to people living with dementia to meet their needs early in and throughout their journey.

Award-winning duo for King & Country recently joined forces with Melodic Caring Project to put on a special show for kids in hospital care over the holidays. 

On Dec. 22, the band live-streamed their concert from the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee, giving shout-outs to nine special fans across the U.S.

“Something really beautiful happened at the show. They couldn’t be there in person with us, so we were honoured to stream the show to them to send them some love and encouragement,” said for King & Country.

A 27-year-old man from Indiana is happy to be alive after being trapped in his crashed vehicle for six days.

Indiana State Police say Matt Reum's truck went off Interstate 94 in northwest Indiana ahead of a bridge, missing the guardrail and rolling several times before landing on the other side of the creek, out of sight from the road above. 

It wasn't until six days later that he was discovered by two fishermen who happened to spot his crumpled vehicle.

ATCO announced today a three-year commitment to fund the County of Grande Prairie’s new Fire Cadet Program.

Heavy snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is expected for areas of the Peace Country.

For the Grande Prairie area, snow will begin early Tuesday morning and taper off Tuesday night. Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. 

Snowfall with total amounts of 10 to 15 cm is also expected for B.C. South Peace River southern sections including Monkman, Wapiti Lake, and Kakwa Provincial Park, Tumbler Ridge.

A young Christian singer who used the stage of America's Got Talent (AGT) to share her story and inspire millions is being remembered in a special way. 

Jane Marczewski, whose stage name was Nightbirde, passed away in Feb 2022 after a battle with cancer. Marczewski was given just a two percent chance of survival, but that didn't stop her from pushing forward.

"I have a two percent chance of survival, but two percent is not zero percent. Two percent is something, and I wish people knew how amazing it is."
