Overcoming misconceptions for church planting among the Deaf

What are the obstacles for gospel ministry to the Deaf?

Rob Myers with DOOR International shares three misconceptions or challenges that make Deaf-led churches rare today.

"Some of it has to do with the lens that we use to view the Deaf community. Many times when we talk about Deaf ministry, people put on the viewpoint of special needs ministry," Myers says.

Instead, Deaf communities should be viewed as minority languages, people groups with their own distinct cultures.

But this one was so different because they were so young," said Bill in the tribute video. "I think they were just simply coming into their own, and it's sad for all of us, and it's hard for us to express how we feel. Four young lives taken way too soon."

Canada’s inflation rate hits 2% target, lowest level in more than three years

Inflation finally hit the Bank of Canada's two per cent target in August after a tumultuous battle with skyrocketing price growth, raising the odds of larger interest rate cuts in the coming months.

Canada's annual inflation rate fell from 2.5 per cent in July to reach the lowest level since February 2021.

The slowdown can be attributed in part to lower gasoline prices, Statistics Canada said Tuesday in its consumer price index report.
