Quebec premier calls on Bloc Québécois to help topple Trudeau government next week

Quebec Premier François Legault on Thursday urged the Bloc Québécois to help topple the federal Liberal government and trigger an election, saying Prime Minister Justin Trudeau continues to disrespect the will of the province.

'There will be something for everyone': One8Tea on new album release

For One8Tea, his family's love for music has played a big role in developing his own passion for creating.

Today, Sept. 20, marks the release day for his latest album, Royal T. He says the album is, "Kind of on its own in terms of the variety and flexibility that I try to make sure I put on every album. We're always really intentional about trying to create something that everybody can enjoy."

He assures listeners that there will be something for everyone. "If you don't the song that is playing now, just give it a couple of minutes. The next one's for you."

Verse of the Day: September 20

Joel 2:23

Be glad, people of Zion,
rejoice in the Lord your God,
for he has given you the autumn rains
    because he is faithful.
He sends you abundant showers,
both autumn and spring rains, as before.

Satanic rip-off

1 Peter 5:8-9

A basketball fan at the Portland airport awaited the arrival of the Trailblazers following a victory over the Lakers and attempted to scalp a couple of tickets to the next game. As the shyster wormed through the crowd, he located a well-dressed man who listened to his offer.

"How much?" asked the gentleman.

"One hundred 50 bucks," the scalper replied under his breath.

"Do you realize you're talking to a plain clothes officer of the law?" the man asked. "I'm going to turn you in, fella."

American pastor freed after nearly 20 years in Chinese prison

American pastor David Lin is finally home. Now 68, Lin was detained by the Chinese government nearly two decades ago, accused of contract fraud.

Lin had applied for and gained permission from the Chinese government to open a Christian church in Beijing. But in 2006, it all fell apart.

He was detained and handed a life prison sentence in 2009. The United States State Department considered Lin one of three Americans "wrongfully detained" by China.

Suffering

2 Corinthians 1

Of all the letters Paul wrote, Second Corinthians is the most autobiographical. In this letter Paul records the specifics of his anguish, tears, affliction, and satanic opposition. He spells out the details of his persecution, loneliness, imprisonments, beatings, feelings of despair, hunger, shipwrecks, sleepless nights, and that "thorn in the flesh"—his companion of pain. How close it makes us feel to him when we see him as a man with real, honest-to-goodness problems, just like ours!
