I need to be very candid with you. If you are a "Sunday Christian," you will not stand alone when outnumbered. Apart from a personal and vital faith in Jesus Christ, it is impossible to wage a winning effort against the system called "the world."
Trying to overcome the powerful magnet of the majority without help from above would be a frustrating and counterproductive effort. Only God can give us such transforming power through our faith in His Son.
High Level RCMP requests public assistance in armed robbery file
On April 20, 2025, High Level RCMP received a report of an armed robbery at the Spirit of the North Community School in High Level. A youth male was riding his bicycle on the school grounds and was approached by a male who brandished a suspected firearm, pointing it at the youth’s head, and demanding the youth’s bicycle. The male then took the bicycle and proceeded to ride it North-West from the location towards 106 Street. High Level RCMP, with the assistance of Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services, responded to the call but were unable to locate the suspect.
Peace River resident arrested after high-speed fire truck chase
A 25-year-old resident of Peace River, was arrested following an incident on April 20, 2025. At approximately 11:30 p.m., Vulcan RCMP were notified of a commercial alarm. While en route, the responding officer observed two Champion fire trucks traveling at high speed without their emergency lights activated. Given the proximity of Champion Fire Hall to the commercial alarm, police attempted to stop the fire trucks, but the vehicles continued.
Dawson Creek introduces convenient pet licensing with DocuPet partnership
The City of Dawson Creek is introducing new changes to cat and dog licensing by partnering with DocuPet, a lost pet and licensing platform. This partnership aims to provide pet owners with a more convenient way to license their pets.
Pet owners can now register their pets online at dawsoncreek.docupet.com, over the phone at 250-784-3618, or in person at City Hall. Additionally, licenses can be obtained at the BC South Peace SPCA when adopting a pet.

Grande Prairie Storm headed to Centennial Cup after finals loss to Calgary Canucks
Despite the Grande Prairie Storm's loss to the Calgary Canucks in the Inter Pipeline Cup finals, the team is now headed to the Centennial Cup. Grande Prairie was defeated by the Calgary Canucks 7-3 in game 4 of the playoffs, losing the best of seven series 4-0.
The Storm organization is incredibly proud of the players and coaching staff for an impressive playoff run.
The Grande Prairie Storm heads to the Centennial Cup, held May 8-18 in Calgary at the Max Bell Centre.
