Earlier this week we made someone's Monday by announcing our very first Ticket Takeoff winner. 

Over the past two weeks we had many entries come in all with the hopes of winning a pair of tickets to see The Sam Roberts Band as well as The Strumbellas at Co-op Place this Fri Sep 13th. Tickets are still available here 

Sam Hunt is bringing his "Locked Up Tour" to the Sasktel Center on Sep 23rd and we want to send you to enjoy the show. 

You can enter for your chance to win each weekday morning on Country 94.1 by playing "Body or Backroad". Chris Martens will provide listeners with a name and listeners must identify if it is the name of a body of water or the name of a backroad. We are exactly one month away from the event of the summer! Our Million Dollar Auction will be taking place on September 6th at Standard Dodge.

He's Back!

We are so happy to welcome back Alex Kozroski once again this summer as our Southwest Explorer. 

Throughout the next few months, Alex will be traveling to events across the southwest and while he's there he will be handing out some Full Line Ag Fun Bucks. 

A new initiative seeks to improve the playground facilities at two local schools. 

Mark Reiter, Principal at Ecole Centennial School provides details on the Growing Fun Together campaign.

"So the Growing Fun Together campaign is a joint initiative between the Chinook School Division, the Holy Trinity School Division and the City of Swift Current. And what we are trying to do is we are trying to improve our playground improvements here at both schools."

Residents can help the local Chinook Alternate Middle Plus School (CAMPS) program while improving their golf game at the upcoming CAMPS Golf Tournament taking place on June 1st.

Student Services Counsellor with CAMPS, Lindsay Painchaud provides some background on the program.

Students from Strathcona High School will be taking to the stage at the Living Sky Casino Events Center tonight with their production of "New Blood".

The production has been arranged by the Swift Current Truth and Reconciliation Committee and deals with the topic of residential schools as Curriculum Coordinator for the Chinook School Division, Curtis Biem explains. 

"The topic is directly about residential schools so that was behind the truth and reconciliation process. So when we have something that meets those needs we found it was a really good opportunity."

The local Meals on Wheels program is currently in need of some volunteers to help deliver daily meals.

Jolene Martin, Volunteer Coordinator with the Saskatchewan Health Authority details the increased need for the program in the city.

"Here in Swift Current, we have four routes and close to 55 clients. Probably between 1000-1200 meals a month go out."

Martin adds there is no set amount of commitment.
