President of the Portage Ex Fair board, Sonya Smith says this year’s fair will be a good one. Volunteers and organizers are getting everything set up to make the event a memorable weekend, with fun for everyone.
Portage Ex Parade leads to weekend excitement
To kick off this weekend’s Portage Ex Fair, the organizers put on a parade to boost excitement for the event. The parade had many amazing floats and cars, as well as music and candy for the whole family. Project Patio had our car in the parade, so we hope you gave us a wave. It is always great to see all the smiling faces. This weekend’s fair is approaching very fast, make sure to stop by the Portage Ex as there will be rides, games, food, and face painting for all the kids.

Canada's 157th birthday is one to remember
Big smiles and cheerfulness were seen at this year’s Canada Day Celebration at the Stride Arena. Although the event was originally supposed to take place outside, that did not stop the community from having a great time. It was a memorable family day with all the activities for the kids. These include tattoos, face painting, bouncy castles, music, and so much more. Various live bands and groups were playing at the event.
Summer fun continues with Project Patio at Treherne Fair
The Treherne Agricultural Society hosted its annual Treherne Fair. People from all over Manitoba came to see the events happening throughout the day. It started with a Pancake Breakfast that anyone could attend, leading into the day’s adventures. There was something for the whole family at the fair, the kids enjoyed the penny carnival games, along with the petting zoo. There were 4H achievements throughout the day, along with various shows by bands and unique acts at the event. Project Patio was at the fair, and we continue to get excited for the next upcoming events happening this summer.
Fun for everyone at MacGregor Fair
The North Norfolk Ag Fair hosted in MacGregor was a hit within the community. Locals enjoyed the fair, as well as many others from all over Southern Manitoba that made it out to MacGregor’s favourite tradition. It was a great event to bring the whole family to, there was music, dancing and beer gardens. There were also many fun activities for the kids to enjoy, such as the Dunk Tank, various yard games, and bouncy castles in the kid zone.
Positive spirits for National Indigenous Peoples Day
National Indigenous Peoples Day was the first full day of summer and the celebration was on at Island Park. With the sun shining for the event it was a great turnout with numerous activities on the schedule.
Many came down to support our community on this special day, and the sunshine matched the smiles at the event. Mayor Sharilyn Knox expresses her gratitude for being able to take part in the day.
Enthusiasm for momentous MacGregor Fair
Locals can begin their excitement as the MacGregor Fair has finally arrived.
An organizer of the event, Joanne Armstrong, comments she is looking forward to this year’s fair, and is hoping to have a good turnout. Armstrong says there is something for the whole family at this event.

The 70th annual Lundar Fair ended on a high note this year, with great turnouts and interesting events that kept everyone entertained.

With everyone getting eager for summer break to come, the 70th annual Lundar fair was the place to be on Saturday. The fair had many great food and drink vendors, as well as many rides for all ages. The cattle showmanship and the horse shows going all day long gave the fair a fun twist. There was a parade before the fair took place, Project Patio was even in the parade to give many waves.
