Conservative candidate Kelly Block has been re-elected as the Member of Parliament for Carlton Trail—Eagle Creek, continuing her long-standing service in federal politics.

First elected to the House of Commons in 2008 representing Saskatoon–Rosetown–Biggar, Block transitioned to the newly formed Carlton Trail—Eagle Creek riding in 2015. She has since won successive elections in 2019, 2021, and now again in 2025.

Rosemarie Falk wins Battlefords—Lloydminster—Meadow Lake

Rosemarie Falk will continue to represent the riding of Battlefords—Lloydminster—Meadow Lake in Ottawa after securing a win in the latest federal election.

Falk, who was first elected in a 2017, has held onto her seat for another term. She has served as a member of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities, where she has focused on policies affecting Canadian families, workforce participation, and support for vulnerable populations.

Patzer elected to third term for southwest Saskatchewan

Jeremy Patzer has been re-elected as the Conservative MP for Swift Current-Grasslands-Kindersley.

Patzer won his riding with about 83 per cent of the vote (over 30,000), beating Liberal candidate William Caton, NDP candidate Alex McPhee, and Independent Maria Rose Lewans.

Thanking each one of his voters, Patzer also extended gratitude to his volunteers and staff.

Jagmeet Singh to step down as NDP Leader after losing seat

Jagmeet Singh says he will step down as the leader of the NDP as soon as a new interim leader is chosen.

Singh conceded defeat in his British Columbia riding of Burnaby Central and the party is at risk of losing official party status.

With the NDP at risk of losing official party status — and after losing his own riding — Singh said he'd be stepping down as leader once the party selects an interim replacement.

"We may lose sometimes and those losses hurt," Singh said, fighting emotion as he stood beside his wife on a stage in Burnaby, B.C.

Canadians give Liberals 4th mandate; Carney wins Ottawa riding

The Canadian Press decision desk is projecting a Liberal government following a short, intense and heated federal election campaign.

As of 10:22 p.m. EDT, the Liberals had received 50 per cent of the popular vote while the Tories held 39 per cent.

Preliminary results for 43 ridings show the Liberals taking 28 seats and the Conservatives holding 21, with the Bloc Québécois holding four seats.

The last polls in British Columbia and Yukon closed at 10 p.m. EDT, following the Prairies and the other territories half an hour earlier.

Protect bats and your home with proper spring exclusion

Saskatchewan residents looking to evict unwanted winged tenants are being reminded that May is the best time to safely exclude bats from homes and other buildings, according to the Ministry of Environment.

Bats can be difficult to find once they enter buildings, and removal efforts are not always feasible or cost-effective. Instead, officials recommend the installation of one-way exits, also known as exclusion devices or bat cones, which allow bats to leave a structure without being able to return.

Saskatchewan honours missing loved ones with week of awareness

The Government of Saskatchewan has proclaimed April 27 to May 3 as Missing Persons Week, in collaboration with the Saskatchewan Missing Persons Partnership.

This year's theme, Coming Together for Hope, brings together government officials, police, community leaders and families to honour the province’s more than 140 long-term missing persons.

Tough competition in the show ring for the Western Dairy Expo and 1st Annual Legends of the Industry Awards handed out

The Western Dairy Expo wrapped up Saturday in Saskatoon. 

This year's event featured 200 Holstein and about 60 Jersey cows and heifers and was judged by Paul Trapp a product acquisition specialist with Semex USA out of Wisconsin, and his associate judge Jon Larson.
