Conservation officers seek public assistance in identifying illegal hunter near Major, SK
On September 25, 2024, Kindersley conservation officers were alerted to a bow hunter unlawfully using an ATV in the Hearts Hill Community Pasture, located west of Major, Saskatchewan. At the time, the risk of fire in the area was extreme, and cattle were present nearby, raising serious concerns about safety.
The hunter is described as a Caucasian male with brown hair. He was seen riding a red ATV equipped with a snorkel kit, large aftermarket tires, and a rear poly box.

The Rosetown Cross Country Meet was a resounding success, with over 200 runners from 19 different schools competing at the Rosetown Golf Club yesterday. The event, held under sunny skies and high temperatures, brought out the best in athletes from across the region, who pushed through the heat to finish strong.
Collision between semi and train blocks traffic near Biggar
Biggar RCMP responded to a collision involving a semi-truck and a train on Range Road 3134, about 1 kilometre south of Highway 14, just east of Biggar on Thursday night around 7:15 p.m.
The collision has resulted in both northbound and southbound lanes being blocked. Emergency services, including EMS and fire crews, were on the scene. Motorists were being asked to avoid the area while the investigation is underway.

West Central Saskatchewan experienced unseasonably warm temperatures on Wednesday, breaking multiple daily heat records as fall ushered in summer-like conditions. According to Environment Canada, several regions saw their highest temperatures ever recorded on September 25.
In the Rosetown area, a new maximum temperature of 34.0°C was set, surpassing the previous record of 33.8°C set in 2001. Weather data in the region has been recorded since 1913.
