David H. Wiens, 80, of Winnipeg formerly of Winkler and Carman, passed away Thursday, July 3rd at Winnipeg. He is survived by his loving wife Pat, bonus children Trish (Doug) with grandchildren Levi and Jayne (Nick); Sandra (Peter) with grandson Nathan; Junior (Linda) with grandchildren Hanna and Marcus; and daughters Angela and Terri. He also leaves his siblings John, Sarah (Penner), Mary (Dyck) and their families.

Agatha Harms, 92, of Winkler passed away Thursday, July 3rd at Salem Home. She is survived by 1 daughter.
The funeral service for Agatha Harms will be held Monday, July 7th at 2pm at Chortitz Old Colony Church with burial at the church cemetery.
Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home, Winkler Sunday, July 6th from 1 to 7pm and at the church prior to the service.
Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Bombers bucked in Calgary in inaugural Stampede Bowl
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers came into the inaugural Stampede Bowl unbeaten and riding high in the saddle after being pegged — once again — as Canadian Football League contenders.

One indicator is the species composition; this includes which species and types of plants you are seeing as well as amount of each species. 3 terms that we often hear when talking about range health are decreaser, increaser, and invader which can be used to describe how plants respond to grazing pressure.

Severe thunderstorms rolled through parts of southwestern Manitoba Thursday night and early Friday morning, with Tornado Warnings issued for more than an hour for two locations.
'Uniquely Canadian': Stampede begins with parade led by country star Shania Twain
The Old West will be on full display as thousands clad in tassels, boots and buckles march through city streets today to kick off the Calgary Stampede.
Country superstar Shania Twain will saddle up and lead the parade on horseback before performing Saturday at the Scotiabank Saddledome. The Stampede runs until July 13.
The “Man! I Feel Like a Woman” singer, who was raised in Timmins, Ont., last took the stage at the Stampede in 2014.
Wildfire prompts second evacuation of Lynn Lake in northern Manitoba
The 600 residents of Lynn Lake in northern Manitoba are being told to leave town for the second time this year due to wildfires.
Town officials say a fire is threatening Manitoba Hydro transmission lines and, if those lines are damaged, the community could be without power for a month.
The town is offering transportation for evacuees and a reception centre has been set up in Brandon, about 1,100 kilometres by road to the south.

RCMP are turning to the public to help find three suspects involved in a robbery in Virden on Monday.
According to police, a 61-year-old woman was approached by a man and two women who offered to help her with her shopping bags while inside a business on princess street. Then, one of the suspects stole the woman's wallet, which had a large amount of cash in it.
The suspects fled before the victim was aware of what happened.
