On April 3, 2025, at approximately 8:30 am, as part of an ongoing investigation, Dauphin RCMP executed a search warrant at a business on Main Street in Dauphin for the second time in four months.
When officers arrived, there was one male employee inside who was also the owner.
During the search, the following was seized:
Canadian economy lost 33,000 jobs in March, biggest loss since 2022
The economy shed 33,000 jobs in March, the biggest loss since January 2022, while the unemployment rate ticked higher, Statistics Canada said Friday.
The agency said the unemployment rate for March rose to 6.7 per cent compared with 6.6 per cent in February.
The hit came amid increased uncertainty caused by U.S. tariffs that have threatened economic growth.
The job losses reversed some of the gains made at the end of last year and into January.

On April 3rd at 8:10AM Police were dispatched to the 1800 block of Lorne Avenue for a female walking into traffic. A 49-year-old female was located and found to have an RCMP endorsed Warrant for Arrest (Failure to Comply Probation). She was arrested and brought to Brandon Police Service (BPS) where fingerprints were taken. She was later released on an Appearance Notice with a court date of May 16th, 2025.

Mildred Weiss nee Steinert, 92, of Emerson formerly of Ridgeville, passed away Wednesday, April 2nd at Altona Memorial Health Centre. She is survived by 1 son, 1 brother, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Richard.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date with ash interment at Friedensthal Cemetery.

Freedom Convoy organizers Lich, Barber found guilty of mischief
"Freedom Convoy" organizers Tamara Lich and Chris Barber have been found guilty of mischief for their roles in the 2022 mass protest in Ottawa.
Lich and Barber were key figures and organizers in the protest that saw hundreds of vehicles and thousands of people occupy downtown Ottawa and insist they would stay until COVID-19 public health mandates were eliminated.
Killarney hosts AIS Community Open House April 10th to discuss the threat of zebra mussels
Killarney-Turtle Mountain is taking steps to help thwart the spread of Aquatic Invasive Species (AIS) into Killarney Lake. The council has been in contact with the provincial government for direction and support, with the first steps being to educate residents and visitors to Killarney.
On behalf of Council, Mayor Janice Smith invites everyone who wants to learn more about AIS, specifically zebra mussels, to join them at the Shamrock Centre next week Thursday, April 10th.
