Jacob Jake Peters, 95, of Killarney passed away Saturday, June 28th at Tri-Lake Health Centre. He is survived by 2 daughters, 1 son, and their families. He was predeceased by his wife Margaret.
The funeral service for Jacob Jake Peters will be held Friday, July 4th at 11am at Lakeview Community Church, Killarney with burial at Killarney Cemetery.
Viewing will be at Wheatland Chapel, Killarney Thursday, July 3rd from 7:30 to 9pm and at the church prior to the service.

Canada rescinds digital services tax to resume negotiations with U.S.
Canada is rescinding its digital services tax and will resume trade negotiations with the United States, Finance Minister François-Philippe Champagne said in a statement issued late Sunday night.
The announcement came following a phone call between Prime Minister Mark Carney and U.S. President Donald Trump, and just hours before the first payment under the tax was going to come due for major tech companies like Amazon and Google.
On Friday Trump announced on his social media platform Truth Social he was terminating all trade discussions with Canada because of the tax.
Carberry's bleachers are so bad, they might win
The Town of Carberry is in the running to win a new set of bleachers and they’re counting on public support to help get them across the finish line.
Carberry is a finalist in the Ugliest Bleachers Contest, hosted by Sports Systems. The winning community will receive a full set of brand-new bleachers, with second and third place earning credits toward future purchases.

Liberals taking ‘fresh’ look at online harms bill, justice minister says
Justice Minister Sean Fraser says the federal government plans to take a "fresh" look at its online harms legislation over the summer but it's not clear yet exactly what the bill will look like when it is reintroduced.
It would be the Liberals' third attempt to pass legislation to address harmful behaviour online.
Fraser told The Canadian Press in an interview that the government hasn't decided whether to rewrite or simply reintroduce the Online Harms Act, which was introduced in 2024 but did not pass.
Shoal Lake's Ky Solomon named an MHSAA Athlete of the Year
Star of Hamiota Collegiate Ky Solomon was named as 'A' Girls Athlete of the Year by the Manitoba High School Athletics Association.
Solomon, who claims Shoal Lake are her home town, says she was as surprised as she was thrilled to get the news she had won. "I was not expecting it at all" the 18-year-old says with a big smile. "I was driving to practice and I got the email. I instantly called mom and dad and told them, it was really exciting."
