Fog advisory ends in Strathmore
The fog advisory in Strathmore has ended.
The fog started on Thursday morning and lasted all day making visibility hard for drivers in the area.
Staff with Environment and Climate Change Canada announced the advisory ended around 11 a.m. on Friday.

Police warning parents after finding heart-shaped fentanyl in Drumheller
Drumheller RCMP arrested and charged two people after finding heart-shaped fentanyl along with other drugs during a traffic stop.
"RCMP is also issuing a warning to the public that the seized fentanyl, in this case, was in the shape of a heart. This is very concerning, as it may make it more appealing to children who may think it is candy. Please speak to your children about this danger," wrote RCMP in a news release.
Drumheller RCMP arrest drunk driver after passengers fall out of pickup truck
Drumheller RCMP have laid impaired driving charges against a 23-year-old man from Starland County.
Officers were called to reports of an injury in the Village of Delia at around 2:30 a.m. on October 19.
When crews arrived, they discovered two men with head injuries. One of the men was airlifted to a Calgary hospital, while the other was transported by an ambulance.
Federal minister asks labour board to intervene in Canada Post strike
Federal Labour Minister Steven MacKinnon says he is "calling a timeout" in the Canada Post strike, and asking the Canada Industrial Relations Board to send about 55,000 employees back to work.
Mackinnon says the Crown corporation and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers are at an impasse after a nearly month-long work stoppage, and negotiations are actually going in the wrong direction.
He says if the board agrees the two sides are at an impasse, it has been asked to order union members to return to work until May.
Canada can't say when it will clear 140,000 backlogged cases for First Nations kids
Canada has told the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal it can't say when it will work through a backlog of some 140,000 cases related to First Nations child services.
That has led to a prominent child welfare advocate and First Nations leaders in Manitoba warning about an escalating crisis caused by Canada's inaction.
Man loses testicle in police standoff: ASIRT
A man lost one of his testicles following a police standoff in August of 2022.
According to a report from the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT), the incident took place at the Calgary Municipal Building after police received calls that a man had set several fires inside the building and brandished a machete.
ASIRT found that the officers did not commit a crime after they shot the man with several Anti-Riot Weapon Enfield (ARWEN) plastic projectile rounds with one hitting him in the testicles.
Westmount School hosts Christmas Marketplace for a cause
Students at Westmount Elementary School are gearing up for their annual Christmas Marketplace.
The event, which runs on Thursday (Dec.19) from 1:15 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. at the school's gym, will be used to raise money for a local charity.
"There's always some Christmas decorations, lots of ornaments and self-care items," said Grade 6 teacher Sarah Rommens. "There's often a lot of different types of toys like slime and products our younger students like to purchase."
Final steps for Scotia Place building debated in Calgary
Members of the Calgary Planning Commission (CPC) reviewed the final steps to the design of the new Scotia Place facility on Thursday.
The CPC approved the development permit for the $1.2 billion facility.

Crime down in Strathmore, according to RCMP report
Crime is down in Strathmore compared to last year, according to local RCMP.
Staff Sergeant Mark Wielgosz presented a quarterly report to town council on Wednesday (Dec. 11), outlining the work that police have been doing in the community.
According to the report, break-and-enters have decreased from 14 incidents in 2023 to six in 2024. Vehicle theft also decreased from 12 to four, and theft from vehicles was unchanged, with seven incidents between July and September.
