Gleichen RCMP find missing girl
Gleichen RCMP have located a missing teen.
On Thursday (July 31), police announced that 15-year-old AJ First Rider was missing and had last been seen on July 20 in Siksika Nation.
However, officers announced later that evening that First Rider was found safe.
RCMP thanked the public for their assistance.
Union vote on Canada Post contract offer set to wrap up Friday afternoon
Unionized workers at Canada Post are entering their final day to vote on the Crown corporation's latest contract offer.
Voting is set to wrap up today at 5 p.m., with results expected to be shared shortly after.
The offer includes wage hikes of about 13 per cent over four years but also adds part-time workers that Canada Post has said are necessary to keep the postal service afloat.
The Canadian Union of Postal Workers has urged the roughly 55,000 postal service workers it represents to reject the proposal.
Trump hits Canada with 35 per cent tariffs
Canada was hit with 35 per cent tariffs on Friday after U.S. President Donald Trump followed through on his threat to increase the duties if Ottawa didn't make a trade deal.
The White House has said the tariffs would not affect goods compliant with the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement on trade, commonly known as CUSMA.
Prime Minister Mark Carney had tempered expectations of an agreement by Friday, saying Ottawa will only agree to a deal "if there's one on the table that is in the best interests of Canadians."

Cowboys and rainclouds: Stampede weekend forecast
The Strathmore Stampede weekend is expected to bring a mix of weather.
Running from Aug. 1 to 4, the Stampede will see sunshine, rain, and clouds over the course of the four-day event.
Friday (Aug. 1) will bring sunny, clear skies, ending with a low of 14 C.
Saturday's parade and rodeo may have attendees suiting up in rain jackets, with a 30 per cent chance of rain. The day will see a mix of sun and cloud, with temperatures rising to a high of 29 C. Rain is expected overnight, with temperatures dropping to a low of 15 C.
Vigil held for victims of Siksika Nation hit and run
Dozens of vehicles lined the streets just off Highway 547 in Siksika Nation as residents gathered to honour Clifton Saddleback and Trayton Runningbird.
Both men were killed in a hit-and-run on Saturday (July 26) off the same road where the vigil was held. The vigil was attended by the men's friends, families, and loved ones.
"He was an incredible father and partner to three beautiful children and the love of his life," said Antaya Cardinal, Runningbird's cousin. "His love for family was so strong. Everything he did was for them."
Strathmore reopens splash park
The Strathmore Lions Splash Park is back open, just in time for the heat.
The park had shut down on Monday (July 28) as crews worked on a sprung leak.
However, the town announced on Wednesday that the park was back up and running.
This comes just as a heat warning was issued for the area by Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Judge to rule on bail for 3 charged in alleged plot to seize land near Quebec City
A judge is scheduled to rule today on whether to grant bail to three men facing terrorism charges in an alleged plot to forcibly seize land in the Quebec City area.
Quebec court Judge René de la Sablonnière heard evidence and arguments over three days.
Simon Angers-Audet, 24, Raphaël Lagacé, 25, and Marc-Aurèle Chabot, 24, face charges of facilitating a terrorist activity, and other charges related to the illegal storage of firearms and possession of explosives and prohibited devices.
