Charges laid after homicide, attempted homicide at Saskatchewan Penitentiary
A release from the Saskatchewan RCMP to begin the month of February detailed a tragic situation at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary.
"On January 29, 2024 at approximately 10:00 p.m., Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert General Investigative Section responded to a report of a sudden death and a second injured person at the Saskatchewan Penitentiary. The initial investigation determined an altercation occurred between a group of inmates."

The Town of Kerrobert has notified the public that they have just received final notification of the water advisory being lifted, and they can use water as normal.

The Saskatchewan RCMP have released an update via a news release on the increased police presence in Kindersley last Friday.
UPDATE: Water back on in Luseland with Boil Water Advisory
3RD and Final UPDATE: 5:00 pm Thursday, January 19
The water has been officially turned back on in Luseland. Because of the length of time without water, the Town will be under a Boil Water Advisory until January 23 when they will reassess.
In class learning will also resume at the Luseland School Friday, January 19.
UPDATE: Extreme cold warning returns only for a brief period

The extreme cold warning is lingering Thursday, as periods of very cold wind chills continue around west-central Saskatchewan.
Wind chill values around -40 and colder can still be expected around parts of southern Saskatchewan, stretching across into southwest Manitoba. Any wind chill values that do moderate Thursday afternoon could return at night for some areas.

The fog advisory has ended as of 5:26 AM on Friday. Local highways are looking mostly seasonal, and should continue to improve throughout the morning.

There is currently a Fog Advisory in effect for the Kindersley, Rosetown, Biggar, Wilkie and Macklin areas.
Near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring.
Dense fog continues over southwestern Saskatchewan this evening with visibilities worsening as the sun sets.

Foggy conditions have shifted north, causing poor visibility along Highway #7. Highways #317, #307, and Highway 21 north are also reporting the reduced visibility, same with Highway #31 to Plenty.
