Update: Calgary police warn drivers of early morning road closures on Deerfoot trail
Calgary police say sections of Deerfoot Trail were closed early Friday but reopened within the hour.
In a social media post just after 6:30 a.m., police said southbound Deerfoot Trail was being diverted at Memorial Drive, while northbound traffic was being diverted at Peigan Trail. Ramps from Memorial and Peigan Trail to access southbound and northbound Deerfoot Trail were also closed.
Police advised motorists to use alternate routes.
Update: Traffic backing up amid reports of earlier collision east of Didsbury
Traffic slowed to a crawl on the QEII northbound east of Didsbury on Thursday morning following an earlier collision, though the scene has since been cleared.
The crash appeared to have occurred just before the intersection of Highway 582 and the QEII. Eyewitnesses said the collision involved a semi-truck and trailer that had overturned onto its side.
Motorists were advised to use caution while travelling northbound on the QEII.
Airdrie motorists: Another day of pothole repairs on the QEII
Northbound traffic on the QEII between Calgary’s city limits to 40 Avenue in Airdrie will face lane closures on Wednesday for pothole repairs.
511 Alberta says the work is scheduled to continue until 3:30 p.m. The fast and middle lanes will be closed, with the speed limit reduced to 80 km/h in the area.

A vehicle collision briefly slowed traffic on northbound 8 Street on Tuesday evening.
According to eyewitnesses, the crash occurred just before the intersection of Channelside Drive (Midtown Gate) and 8 Street.
There was no immediate word on injuries, and the scene has since been cleared.

Airdrie drivers: Pothole repairs on QEII may slow you down today
Pothole repairs may slow northbound traffic on the QEII between Calgary and Balzac on Tuesday.
Alberta 511 says the work extends from 144 Avenue N.E. in Rocky View County to the junction with Highway 566.
Repairs began this morning and are expected to wrap up by 2 p.m.

A collision southbound QEII near Balzac has been cleared, but traffic remained slow Monday afternoon due to earlier backups.
Just after 2 p.m., Google Maps showed possible collisions at three points along the route between Airdrie and Calgary, near Highway 566 and CrossIron Drive. The number dropped to two shortly after, and 511 Alberta later reported one confirmed collision in the area.
There was no official word on injuries. Drivers were advised to consider alternate routes.

RCMP urges caution on Alberta roads ahead of Heritage Day long weekend
Alberta RCMP is reminding motorists to stay safe behind the wheel as the province heads into the Heritage Day long weekend.
“Many collisions are preventable,” said Sgt. Darrin Turnbull with Alberta RCMP Traffic. “By following safe driving practices, such as leaving early, staying alert, and driving according to conditions, we can help ensure Alberta’s roadways are safe for everyone this August long weekend.”
Update: Crossing arms stuck at Yankee Valley, traffic and bus delays ongoing
Crossing arms at the Yankee Valley Boulevard rail tracks were stuck down Wednesday afternoon, causing major traffic congestion and transit delays.
Airdrie Transit issued a service alert just before 3:30 p.m., citing a “light malfunction at the train tracks” affecting both eastbound and westbound lanes at Yankee Valley Boulevard and Main Street. All local and on-demand bus routes experienced delays.
Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) crews arrived around 3:40 p.m., and peace officers were on site directing traffic.
