Update: Airdrie drivers asked to watch out for fog, ice, and blowing snow on morning commute

Airdrie drivers may face challenging conditions this morning on the QEII, both north and south of the city.

There are reports that the night's snowfall has meant blowing snow, and continued dense fog patches are creating slippery stretches. Icy sections, black ice, and snow-covered shoulders add to the hazards. Reduced visibility in some areas is expected, making travel hazardous. Calgary roads have been reported to be in similar condition.

Update: Reports of collision at one of Airdrie's busiest intersections

Emergency crews have cleared the scene of a multi-vehicle collision at the intersection of 8 Street and Yankee Boulevard.

According to eyewitnesses, lane closures occured earlier this morning, causing delays.

There was no word on injuries or the cause of the collision.

This is a developing story.
