More Underpass work scheduled today
Dryden drivers are warned once again of road work that’s scheduled to shut down the King Street Underpass.
The City of Dryden says the Underpass will be closed to all traffic today between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m., as crews work to complete repairs to the roadway.
Public Works apologizes for the inconvenience and thanks the public for their cooperation. Anyone with questions or concerns is asked to call their office at 807-223-2367.
Closure on First Street today
Dryden drivers are warned of delays in the First Street area today.
The City of Dryden says First Street, from Myrtle Avenue to Mary Avenue, will be closed to traffic today until 5 p.m., as crews work to complete repairs to the area’s water distribution system.
Public Works apologizes for the inconvenience, and anyone with questions or concerns is asked to call them at 807-223-2367.
Eighth Street South in Lakeside closed today
Kenora residents are warned of more construction work and delays in the Lakeside area today.
The City of Kenora says Titan Contractors will be completing water work on Seventh Avenue South and Eighth Street South today, closing Eighth Street South until 5 p.m.
Until then, residents are asked to detour through Ninth Street South and Sixth Avenue South.
Closure impacting Ninth Street North today
Kenora residents are advised of a road closure on Ninth Street North today.
The City of Kenora says Ninth Street North, between Houghton Road and Artillery Way, will be closed to all traffic for the remainder of the day today, as crews work in the area.
That’s the roadway between the end of the Lake of the Woods Cemetery and up the hill to the 116th Armories. Residents are asked to use alternate routes.
The City of Kenora thanks the public for their cooperation during the work.
Highway delays in Dryden area this week
Residents travelling through the Dryden area are warned of delays on Highway 17, east of the community.
The City of Dryden says road repairs will be taking place on Highway 17, east of the Duke Street Overpass to the East Welcome Sign, every day until 7 p.m. through September 19.
The city says traffic control will be in place to maintain one lane of traffic with alternating east and west traffic flows. The sidewalk will also be closed to pedestrian traffic during this time, and alternate routes are recommended to avoid delays.
Kenora inspecting docks, roadways for flood damage
The City of Kenora says work is continuing to reopen a number of roadways, docks and pieces of infrastructure after this spring’s nearly record-breaking rainfall, water levels and flooding.
The city says their Municipal Emergency Control Group, along with staff, are inspecting infrastructure that’s been affected by the high water levels to ensure it’s safe for public use.
The city says these inspections are being prioritized, and include wharfs, docks, roadways and more.
Intermittent road closures across Airdrie
The city is reminding residents that there will be several temporary road and pathway closures throughout the fall. A portion of the closures has already taken effect.
First Street closed today in Dryden
The City of Dryden is warning drivers of delays and a detour in the community today.
Crews say First Street from Pollock Lane to Grand Trunk Avenue will be closed today until 6 p.m., as crews work to complete repairs to the water distribution system.
A detour is in place for residents to use Pollock Lane to access First Street.

Moncrief crews working on Essex Road repairs
More repairs are coming to Essex Road, causing even more delays for area residents this summer.
The City of Kenora says beginning today and ending by September 16, Moncrief Construction will be performing ditch line and gravel surface remediation work between the East Mellick Road intersection to 0.5 kilometres south of the Hooterville Trail intersection. Traffic control will be in place.
Collision near Clearwater Market
Traffic delays are expected along Highway 17 today near the Clearwater Bay Market after a two-vehicle collision.
Emergency responders with the OPP and the McKenzie Clearwater Volunteer Fire Department are on scene. As it stands, no injuries have been reported.
