Update: 40th Avenue Overpass ready in two weeks; major road closures ahead
Beginning on Friday, September 29 at 7 p.m. Main Street and 40th Avenue Southwest will be shut down.
Highway closure to end before Thanksgiving long weekend
As of noon on Friday, October 6, a portion of the TransCanada Highway, east of Golden, British Columbia will be re-opened for traffic for the Thanksgiving long weekend.
The extended 24-hour closure which began yesterday, on Monday, September 25 between Golden Donald Upper Road and Yoho Bridge has meant that motorists will have to use the alternate route via Highway 95 and Highway 93S, adding up to 90 minutes of driving time.
More lane closures as 40th Avenue Overpass nears completion
In less than a month, the 40th Avenue Overpass is slated to be completed and opened to traffic. However, in the coming weeks, motorists can expect lane closures that will impact the flow of traffic.

Update: Collision on Deerfoot trail snarls traffic for kilometers
A multi-vehicle collision that occurred earlier this morning, heading Southbound on Deerfoot Trail, has been cleared.
The collision, in the vicinity of Country Hills Boulevard and Deerfoot Trail Northeast, near 96 Avenue, had snarled traffic for kilometres.

Update: One dead in serious motorcycle collision near Airdrie
EMS has confirmed that one individual has died as a result of a collision between a motorcycle and a pick-up truck near Airdrie.
RCMP confirmed that the deceased was the motorcyclist involved in the collision.
Before 7 p.m. on Wednesday evening, RCMP stated that they had cleared the scene. Traffic flow of Highway 566 and Range Road 11 had resumed. A section of the highway was previously closed for several hours as police and emergency services were responding to the fatal collision.
Pedestrian in life-threatening condition following collision
A pedestrian was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition following a Monday evening collision.
Earlier in the evening, Airdrie RCMP responded to the motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the Northbound lanes of the QEII Highway just South of Crossiron Mills Mall.
For several hours one Northbound lane was blocked while officers investigated the collision. A little after 9 p.m. Mounties stated that RCMP had cleared the scene on the QEII Highway and normal traffic flow had resumed.
Update: Motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian on QEII
A little after 9 p.m., Mounties confirmed they had cleared the scene.
Earlier on Monday evening, Airdrie RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision with a pedestrian in the Northbound lanes of the QEII Highway just South of Crossiron Mills Mall.
"The pedestrian has been transported to hospital with injuries," police stated in a brief media release.
EMS confirmed the pedestrian who was transported via ground ambulance to a hospital, was an adult male. The man's injuries are deemed life-threatening.
Traffic slowdowns to last till October on QEII
Beginning today, in the evening and lasting till the first week of October, motorists should expect significant slowdowns in both directions on the QEII.
