Regina Tress

Regina Tress passed away on July 29, 2023, in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  Regina was born in the Bayard, Saskatchewan area on June 24, 1929.  She was the eldest of nine children born to Frank and Anne Morhart.  Regina received her first year of schooling at Hapsburg School, near Bayard then the remainder of her schooling in Spring Valley, Saskatchewan.  She left school in 1944 to help her parents with the farm until 1945, when she went to work in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.  In 1946, she returned to Spring Valley to work in the general store.

Sharon Lea Sowden

We are saddened to share the sudden passing of Sharon Lea Sowden on August 6, 2023, at Dr. F.H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK. Sharon was the first of three children born to Al and Dellmary Sowden on January 11,1951. She lived life to its fullest. Sharon liked trapping in the NWT, firefighting in Fort Simpson, and building a log cabin. She was involved in the Legion, Eastern Star, Red Hat Society, and local seniors’ centers. Her Grandkids and great grandkids were her shining stars. She loved them more than they ever knew.

February 18, 1936 to July 27, 2023

Hugh passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023 in Moose Jaw, Sask.  Predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Sarah, his brother Levi and his wife Karleen.  He is survived by his brother Dwight Hagan, niece Dana, nephew Dion and nephew Cory and Garry (Linda) Gallot, Kevin Gallot and Don Gallot.  Hugh was a man of few words but was kind and caring.  Hugh had to make a transition from moving from his Mossbank farm life to city life which he easily adjusted to. 

Susan Ruth Gillett

Susan Ruth Gillett (nee Crampton) passed away on July 30, 2023, after a battle with cancer. Susan was born May 21, 1961, at the Gravelbourg Hospital, and grew up on her family's farm near Woodrow, SK. As a child, teen, and young adult, she was active in Girl Guides and figure skating, both as a skater and as a coach in several small towns in South-Central Saskatchewan. She attended Woodrow School, then Lafleche School, and took her grade 12 at A E Peacock Collegiate in Moose Jaw. After that, she studied Business for a year at Saskatchewan Technical Institute.

Josephine Iola Elizabeth Bjolverud

Josephine Iola Elizabeth Bjolverud

It is with sadness the family announces the passing of Josephine Iola Elizabeth Bjolverud on July 23, 2023, just short of her 103rd birthday. She was born on a farm in the Chamberlain District. She received her education at Sheppard School. She was diagnosed with TB in November 1941, and she spent a year at Providence Hospital and one year at Fort San where she stayed on and worked in the sewing room for seven years.

Myrna Carter passed away peacefully in her home at Chateau St Michael’s on July 17, 2023.Myrna was born in Moose Jaw on July 23, 1940. Her parents were Angus and Lillian Cameron of Crestwynd, SK. Myrna spent her childhood surrounded by many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and little sister Mary.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Geraldine (Gerri) Reeve on July 16, 2023, at the age of 69. Gerri’s family brought her the most joy and happiness in her life. Working for many years at Providence Place held a special place in her heart which was evident in the care and compassion she would show for those she cared for, and the lifelong friendships she made with her coworkers.

Marion "Marnie" Jean Knutson

The family of Marion “Marnie” Jean Knutson is sad to announce her passing on June 22, 2023, at Providence Place, Moose Jaw, SK. Marion was born on August 27, 1933. She is predeceased by her parents Jean and George Charlebois; brother Barry; daughter-in-law Andrea; as well as ex-husband George. Marion is survived by her sons Greg (Debbie) of Kelowna, BC, and Glen (Gail) of Moose Jaw, SK; grandchildren Scott, Michelle, Josh, and Jillian; four great grandchildren; and brother Garett.
