With only three weeks away to the Canadian federal election, the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan (APAS) are ensuring that agriculture is top of mind for campaigning parties by announcing a new strategic agenda called Unleashing Agriculture for Canada's Growth. Ottawa police name suspect in Parliament Hill lockdown incident
Ottawa police have released the name of the person they say was behind a massive security incident on Parliament Hill over the weekend.
Police say Tyler Hall-Worthington, a 31-year-old Ottawa man, has been charged in connection with the lockdown Saturday afternoon at East Block, a building in the parliamentary precinct that mainly houses offices for senators and their staff.
An Ottawa police spokesperson told The Canadian Press that the suspect was still in custody as of Monday morning.

The Young Fellows Club of Weyburn is celebrating a successful Auction and Banquet event on Saturday evening, which featured a prime rib dinner, a photo booth, DJ Richy Roy, performances by the Calgary Dueling Pianos, movie theatre popcorn, the conclusion of the club's online auction of 400 items, and a live auction of 15 items.
"We are well over $100,000 between the online and the live auction that we raised," shared Ryan Skjerdal, one of the organizers of the event.
Over $4000 raised at WPL spring book sale
Last week marked a successful spring book sale for the Weyburn Public Library. Branch manager Dawn Silver reports $4835.75 was raised to support their programming.
“The funds for the book sale are earmarked for programming in particular, because we want to make sure that we can continue to offer all the ages of programming to people for free. The library board feels very strongly that we must continue to do that in today's economic climate.”

BBBS to end After School program at end of year

A reception was held Friday night at the Weyburn Art Gallery to open up the new exhibition, "Exploring C.Q.", featuring works by artist Wilbur Sargunaraj.
Curator Regan Lanning said the artist is a singer, a songwriter, an author, a photographer, and a cultural facilitator.
