Members of three Saskatchewan credit unions are being asked to cast their vote this week as Conexus, Cornerstone, and Synergy Credit Unions consider a proposed merger that would create the largest credit union in the province, and one of the largest in the country.
Southeast almost finished seeding for the spring
Farmers across southeast Saskatchewan made significant progress in the past week, with 95 per cent of seeding now complete. That’s up from 80 per cent the week before and is on par with the region’s five-year average of 94 per cent. Lohse, Wade Loyal
Wade Loyal Lohse, late of Beaubier, SK passed away on June 3, 2025 at the age of 71 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Kenneth and Mabel “Peggy” Lohse; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
St. Michael School: Kindergarteners release fish into Mainprize Lake
It was an exciting day on Wednesday for Mrs. Porter's Kindergarten class at St. Michael School.
While it was Mrs. Porter's fourth year taking part in the Fish in Schools program through the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation and the Weyburn Wildlife Federation, it was an entirely new experience for the young students.
The teacher and her students received a delivery from the Saskatchewan Fish Hatchery of 100 rainbow trout eggs at the end of January, and they were able to release 84 fingerlings into Mainprize Lake after watching them grow in their classroom.
