Sherwood Park speeder among most extreme cases of 2022
One of the worst cases of extreme speed from 2022 was in our own backyard.
In a recent release sent out to highlight the work of Alberta Sheriffs, an incident involving a 25-year-old man travelling 203 km/h in a 100 km/h zone on Highway 21 just outside of Sherwood Park was reported.
The exact date of the incident and the punishment for the offender was not disclosed.
This was just one of many cases that were handled by Alberta Sheriffs in their first year with expanded authorities.

Fisher called Tittemore a hard worker, a skilled officer and a dedicated family man who was a mentor and example to many junior officers.

Spring wheat acres expected to increase in 2023
When it comes to supply and demand for wheat, demand has outstripped supply for the past couple of years.
Chuck Penner with LeftField Commodity Research says with the strength in demand, we've seen an increase in prices.
The price rally was accelerated by the drought and most recently by the war in Ukraine.
In terms of major exporters, he says, Canada bounced back while there was a drop from other key exporters.

One resident on a local Facebook forum said it made their commute out of the city much more hazardous.
