Beavers snap skid in dramatic fashion against Moose Jaw

The Weyburn Beavers bounced back emphatically Tuesday night, routing the Moose Jaw Miller Express 13-1 at Tom Laing Park. It was a statement win that snapped a six-game skid and gave the home crowd at Tom Laing Park plenty to cheer about.

Head coach Cam Williams praised his team’s complete performance.

“The guys obviously came ready to play," Williams said after the game. "Coming off the off day and a tough week last week… it was good to kind of take a breath and enjoy this one.”

57's game postponed due to smoke

The Swift Current 57's and Regina Red Sox waited until well into the night to make the call but eventually postponed their WCBL game last night due to the smoke.

They'll have to make it up at a later date.

The two clubs are scheduled to play again tonight, but this time in Regina. 

The 57's are back home Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

Swift Current won their first game of the season on Sunday, beating Saskatoon 7-6.

Klippers bolster prospect pool with eight picks in 2025 SJHL Draft

The Kindersley Jr Klippers added some strong talent to their prospect pool during Tuesday's 2025 SJHL Draft.

Making a splash before the draft even began, the Klippers completed a trade with Estevan to gain an early pick. After trading their first pick to La Ronge during the season in the Mason Bueckert trade, the Klippers acquired the third overall pick of the 2010 born players round, sending the Bruins the fifth overall pick in the 2009 players' portion.

With their newly minted #3 overall pick, Kindersley selected forward Bronx Becker out of Saskatoon.

While a few games have had to be moved, the Morden Mud Hens are picking up steam as the Border Baseball League season continues and player/coach Derek Holenski believes good things are coming their way. 

"It's always exciting to get back out there," Holenski says. "It's been a struggle with the weather, I think we've rescheduled more game then we've played at this point, but that's the nature of playing ball this time of year in this part of the world. We take any chance we can and it's been fun so far."

One of the premier golf events hosting the greatest golfers in Saskatchewan will take place in Weyburn this upcoming weekend, The Crocus Men's Open. Last year, nearly 70 golfers converged at the Weyburn Golf Club for the provincially sanctioned event in co-ordination with the Order of Merit tournament. Krystle Fedoretz, general manager at the Weyburn Golf Club, comments on one of the golf club’s biggest tournaments of the year.
